Irans Ahmadinejad is not Unhinged May 25th, 2006 The world is captivated by the sudden rise of a relatively unknown to the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, for his torrent of outrageous statements and claims. He has, thus, in a short time acquired great many appellations. He is viewed as zealot, fascist, fanatic, anti-Semitic, lunatic and more. One prominent Western journalist called him unhinged. All these labels aim, in part, to dismiss the man as an aberration. As someone who is in urgent need of psychological help, a person out of touch with reality who represents nothing of...
AP Interview: Lieberman suspects Iran is behind Hezbollah actionshttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1666057/posts On 07/14/2006 10:11:26 PM EDT
AP ^ | July 14, 2006
U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman said Friday that he suspects Iran is behind the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah guerillas, an act that triggered retaliatory attacks by Israel and three days of deadly violence in the Middle East this week. Lieberman, D-Conn., said he believes Iran, which backs Hezbollah, is attempting to make a political statement to the world. "I will raise the question of whether Iran ... is not provoking this crisis for the purpose of not quite distracting us, but flexing their terrorist muscles as the world begins to pressure them to stop their nuclear weapons development,"...

President George W Bush refused last night to rein in Israel as its close ally brought international condemnation by stepping up its offensive in Lebanon. For the second day running Israeli aircraft bombed southern Beirut, hitting the headquarters of Hizbollah, the Iranian-backed militant Islamic group, and the residence of its...

Their mistake was the "authorization" of doing the snatch in the first place on the same day there were to give their formal response to the P5+1.
We may want the right situation but it may never come. The premise is there though. The average Joe/Jane I believe here in the US and abroad I think are getting the bigger picture now and connecting the dots.

Commenting on post 261....all these "experts" with advice for our President. Like they didn't get a chance to set the ME right ages ago, but blew it, now want to tell us all how important they are.
Upon closer examination, they usually end up being part of the cause the problem.

I'd forgotten that about him...the NATO part, but remembered that him saying he was in charge after President Reagan was shot.
For all his foibles, Haig is/was extremely pro-Israel.
To: Ray66
Thanks for the link Ray. It's still just talk. Syria can mouth off all day long, but I'm beginning to believe that's all they're going to do. Hezbollah is about to discover that all the promises given to them will amount to nothing when there is an Israeli in their front yard with a gun pulling the trigger.

LOL! Did you see him in the bomb shelter, playing with the little boy? He is a really pathetic reporter, who has absolutely no depth....but, CNN's coverage is much better than FNC's. What's her name is sitting in for Greta, but we have a clip of Greta in NY. I'm surprised FNC can't muster up some good military commentators to be on this story all the time. I do appreciate the COLs an GENs they have had on, but there is no need for this clip of Greta at this time. They should turn the story over to Ollie, and let him run with it.

Thank you daybreak. Every little bit of info helps. I'm staying away from the TV right now. It seems the commercials become more frequent when the news is more urgent.

I'd forgotten that about him...the NATO part, but remembered that him saying he was in charge after President Reagan was shot. I watched that statement and the press blew it way out of proportion. They tried to make it out like Haig was seizing the Gov't or something and bypassing any Constitutional succession. I didn't take what Haig said to mean that at all but those were the days of the single-party press.
