But Israel isn't JUST attacking these terrorist organizations. They are also attacking Lebanon, a soveriegn state with a large Catholic population that didn't do anything to be attacked.
I can understand Israel attacking Hizbollah strongholds in the sections of the country that the Lebanese government does not control. That's where the missiles are coming from, after all. I can even understand attacking Shiite parts of Beirut, as the populace there tends to support Hizbollah. I cannot understand them hitting Christian and Sunni civilian sections of central Beirut, as neither of these populations supports Hizbollah.
If I understand you correctly, you maintain that Israel is deliberately attacking parts of Lebanon not involved with the terorists. I suppose taking out the airports, some roads and bridges could be interpreted that way. But I see no deliberate attacks upon non-terror civilian populations. Are the terrorists leasing or appropriating office space in the Christian part of Beirut? They use their own women and children as human shields, why would they hesitate to use Christians?
As for Shiite/Sunni distinctions, a Muslim is a Muslim; the "good" ones are only biding their time until they are strong enough to strike.
Lebanon has forfieted its national sovereignty by allowing the terrorist cancer to grow in it without opposition. Lebanon's only hope is to remove all Muslims so the largely Christian population can live in peace. Who better to assist in this endeavor than Israel?
