Here is the situation: World leaders are lining up, either on the side of the Islamic terrorists (Chirac and Putin) or the side of their victims (the United States and -- somewhat -- Great Britain). The Vatican, which has an unsavory record in regard to the periodic slaughters of the Jews has thrown its moral weight (such as it is these days) onto the scales against the Jews. As the Hizbollah terrorists fire hundreds of rockets into Israeli cities from Lebanon and the Pope condemns Israel's attempts to destroy the rockets aimed at its citizens, Israel's chief of staff is forced to concede that those rockets can reach farther than previously thought, putting more Israelis in danger. Meanwhile, the Syrian terrorist state tells Time magazine that it could destroy Israel's nuclear sites. Hizbollah, Hamas, Iran and Syria occupy areas that are one hundred times the size of Israel and the populations they control are ten times the size of Israel's. Hizbollah and Hamas, and their patron Iran, have sworn to remove Israel from the face of the earth -- in those very words. Iran has defied the world community in asserting its determination to complete its nuclear program. Syria supports Iran, hosts Hamas and is a party to this malignant Islamic crusade. Behind them stand Russia and China and North Korea, and also apparently the international left which is lining up squarely behind the jihadists -- and has been doing so throughout the open preparation of this second holocaust. The left's favorite apostle Noam Chomsky only months ago was embracing Hizbollah's Hitler, Hassan Nasrallah, and his genocidal agendas.
So here is the issue: If you were Israel's prime minister, could you afford to wait until Iran attains nuclear warheads for Hizbollah's missiles? Or can you be sure it hasn't already been supplied such warheads by Russia or China through Iran? Could you afford to wait to see if Syria will supply the chemical and biological weapons it has cached for Saddam Hussein to Hizbollah and Hamas? Or would you proceed to plan B and obliterate them now?
While the Israeli prime minister ponders this question, leftists who are encouraging the forces of genocide -- Hizbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran -- might want to think how all the present bloodshed and the next terrible decisions that Israel must take to defend itself -- and their consequences -- will lie on their heads.

I have a bad feeling that Israel is using less than 50% of it's military power, fighting with one hand behind it's back and is not taking out Damascus. And then Iran.
Sooner or later, they or we will have to do something really profound to take these people out for once or all. It's that or a surrender. Forget Europe, they are running scared, and that will not save them. It's us, Israel and possibly Australia.
You Giuliani liberals are all the same.
Coleus, I missed the post, where is it?
I'm not Coleus, but check out post #18.
Let's hope so. The muzzies need a huge smack-down.
I think the pulse would only effect electronics that are turned on, they would feel the surge and short out. Those with no electricity flowing through them wouldn't be effected. I think this is true. As to your other point about being stuck with a million who can't build a city. Try taking up a hobby such as carpentry.
How ironic is it that The History Channel is showing a rerun of "Countdown to Armageddon" tonight. Scary stuff.
I'm wondering if they are going to call him an imbecile and an idiot when all this escalates into World War III?
The nature of the job could change, though, under a variety of circumstances. A Dark Age, for example, might well motivate popes differently.
The fact that this pope is German may be significant, but not from the standpoint of antisemitic sentiment. He's of the age of German people who came to adulthood with their nation down around their ears, with people eating out of garbage cans, sleeping in hovels built out of rubble, and little prospects of having a decent future.
Years ago I spent time in West Germany in the Army. One of the things that impressed me was that in every city or town, or even village, there seemed to be a part of town set aside exactly like it looked at the end of WWII as a kind of reminder. A lot of people didn't want anyone to forget what happened.
Then, in the little town where I was stationed, over near the main bicycle shop, there was a modest memorial. It had the picture of every person of that town killed in the war.
Small village ~ large remembrance ~ Juden, Soldaten, and others ~ that's what it said. They named an awful lot of people. Some of them were pictures of children.
This particular Pope came of age in that environment. No doubt he's going to reject violence. No doubt the "newsies" will seek to misrepresent him in the worst light ~
I didn't think you were talking to me.
I'm not Catholic but like most Christians I have nothing but respect for the Pope even when I disagree. Popes denounce violence and I accept it as such.
Right now in this conflict they do not have nukes, or at least as far as we know. Russia may be helping them to build their nukes which will still take some time, but they will not sell them one if that's what you mean. If they are going to buy one they'll buy it from NK and right now all eyes are on NK so I don't see that happening either, at least not now.
These are dangerous times we live in.
Well, I can't help but think of the quotes from my prophecy books, prophecy's by Catholic saints. Talking about the coming of the Muslims, a short World War of great intensity in which millions of people around the world would be killed. Shortly after the year 2000.
Interesting quotes about the state of the world at the time also, Godless, proud, 'filled with hatred and rising up to kill each other without pity.'
Quotes regarding the hatred for religion and the Catholic Church. The polluted priesthood and watered down teachings. The Church's of Europe mostly empty.
The writings and teachings of Pope John Paul the Great.
But, after this war, the Church will rise again.
I think it's about that time myself. The 'New Springtime' is almost here, I'm thinkin.
"A more likely scenario is that they will hand off a nuclear device to Hamas or some other terrorist organization. That way they can plead innocent to the world."
I'm late to this party/post, but I agree. I can easily see that happening. And that's scarey.
Some days I'd just like to completely shut it all down. Close our borders, stop trading with everyone except Canada and Mexico (to a lesser degree; I need cocoa beans and coffee to live) and let the US Citizens "deal" with a lack of this or that and just "make do." If there's a country on the planet that can be self-sufficient in all ways, it's us! Till up your yard and plant a 'Victory Garden' for Pete's Sake...and silk stockings have been optional for about 50 years already. ;)
I think that's what it will take to wake people up to what's really going down in our world today. I don't put a helluvalota faith in my Fellow American to see things for what they really are these days.
I'm really not a Kookburger, but I'll be in my fortified and well-stocked "bunker" if anyone needs me. ;)
