Decision Time: Will this war go nuclear?
www.frontpagemag.com ^ | 7/14/2006 | David Horowitz

Here is the situation: World leaders are lining up, either on the side of the Islamic terrorists (Chirac and Putin) or the side of their victims (the United States and -- somewhat -- Great Britain). The Vatican, which has an unsavory record in regard to the periodic slaughters of the Jews has thrown its moral weight (such as it is these days) onto the scales against the Jews. As the Hizbollah terrorists fire hundreds of rockets into Israeli cities from Lebanon and the Pope condemns Israel's attempts to destroy the rockets aimed at its citizens, Israel's chief of staff is forced to concede that those rockets can reach farther than previously thought, putting more Israelis in danger. Meanwhile, the Syrian terrorist state tells Time magazine that it could destroy Israel's nuclear sites. Hizbollah, Hamas, Iran and Syria occupy areas that are one hundred times the size of Israel and the populations they control are ten times the size of Israel's. Hizbollah and Hamas, and their patron Iran, have sworn to remove Israel from the face of the earth -- in those very words. Iran has defied the world community in asserting its determination to complete its nuclear program. Syria supports Iran, hosts Hamas and is a party to this malignant Islamic crusade. Behind them stand Russia and China and North Korea, and also apparently the international left which is lining up squarely behind the jihadists -- and has been doing so throughout the open preparation of this second holocaust. The left's favorite apostle Noam Chomsky only months ago was embracing Hizbollah's Hitler, Hassan Nasrallah, and his genocidal agendas.

So here is the issue: If you were Israel's prime minister, could you afford to wait until Iran attains nuclear warheads for Hizbollah's missiles? Or can you be sure it hasn't already been supplied such warheads by Russia or China through Iran? Could you afford to wait to see if Syria will supply the chemical and biological weapons it has cached for Saddam Hussein to Hizbollah and Hamas? Or would you proceed to plan B and obliterate them now?

While the Israeli prime minister ponders this question, leftists who are encouraging the forces of genocide -- Hizbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran -- might want to think how all the present bloodshed and the next terrible decisions that Israel must take to defend itself -- and their consequences -- will lie on their heads.

Do you still think that the Russian Army has anything like that offensive capacity???

Actually, I do. We're not talking about Ivan crashing through Western Europe.

Yes you are right. These are the "End Times". We have probably had about 250,000 years to get this great social experiment off the ground. The way things are going we may only have 100,000 or 150,000 years left before Kahoutek the Comet comes back and justs blows all life on Earth into oblivion. But, wait a minute, what if Kahoutek destroyed every living organism on the Planet Earth except for one single cell bacteria lying 25000 feet below sea level in the Mariana Trench. Alas, life starts anew. Life cannot ever be snuffed out. There are no end times only transitions. Life goes on, with or without, the Human Species. Get used to it.

You let the cat out of the bag. I think you spoke words that many probably felt, but hesitated to say. It will happen sooner or later and how many more will die in the later scenario?

2012 is supposedly the end of the Mayan calender. To me that means nothing, they had to stop somewhere.

I hope not, because that could contaminate the oil. Let's try to stay with fuel-air bombs if we can.

I saw a program on The History Channel a few weeks ago about the Bible Code. The take away from the program was that 2012 is the year that the world is supposed to end (by an asteroid strike). I'm not saying I believe this, but it is eerie that 2012 keeps coming up as a significant one in end times prophesies.

No, they play the game where the US does all the heavy lifting, and they do all the profiting.

Yep. Iran and North Korea are "useful idiots" to Russia and China. They provide a nice little thorn in the side of the USA while Russia and China profiteer.....

There are prophecies about the Catholic Church, and the succession of Popes. I'm no expert on this, but the prophecies were made by Malachy in the 1100s. He listed 112 Popes, with Benedict being the next to the last listed (he didn't name the names of the Popes, but had a quote about each of them. The quotes are general, but some, interestingly enough, do have a relationship to the Pope. John Paul I, for example, was listed as the Pope of the half moon, and reigned around one moon cycle (34 days).

Prior to the selection of Benedict, many people were saying he would be a member of the Benedictine order, because of the predictions made. He wasn't Benedictine, but selected Benedict as his name (either of which could have been self-fulfilling prophecies). The next (last) Pope is supposed to be Peter the Roman, who will reign when the city of seven hills (Rome) is destroyed, and the Lord will return.

I make no pretense to either accept or reject the prophecies, but have read a little about them.

Iran has also said that IF Syria is attacked that it will unite the muslim world.

Do you have any idea how many times the mooslimbs have said this or that would "unite the Muslim world" in the past six months? The one saving grace here is the Muslims DON'T get along and they never have.

Just in my lifetime I can recall that the various wars fought against Israel would "unite the Muslim world". Then, it was Gulf War I, then, Gulf War II. Where exactly is that "Arab Street" that was supposed to errupt?

I have yet to see anything that "unites" Muslims. This certainly isn't going to do it, not by a long shot. Now, there might be some Muslims that get ignited.....

There is one very common denominator that muslims can, will, and are united about, hatred for Israel and the west. Just as love is an extremely powerfull emotion, it's direct opposite, hatred is equally as powerfull. It's that ame hatred that has gotten us to this point and is fomenting whether manifested or not in the heart of most evey muslim. Time is coming to choose sides, what side do you think thier going to take whether directlu involved or not? Certainly not the Israeli's, hence they are are united.

I don't know if he Pope is against th Jews or not. I do wonder if the Vatican has ever recognized Israel as a State. I had read that they did not have an ambassador but had sent an envoy. They did not immediately do that. It was several years after the the return of the Jews to Israel that was instigated.

Any Freeper out there know anything about this?

Have you read the history of the modern Catholic Church, Windswept House, by Father Malachi Martin. That will scare you.
