Democrats Sink To New Low
I have been taking a lot of flak from some fellow Republicans lately over the way I am attacking liberals in my columns. They feel that insulting liberals by calling them wackos or loonies is just stooping to their level and should be stopped.
I guess many of my Republican friends prefer the intellectual approach to arguments. Which means to sit back with a smile on your face while being insulted by a liberal. Once the liberal has finished his or her insults, then and only then, make an intellectual argument about a conservative position.
The only problem is that liberals never finish their string of insults. They have the staying power of Bill Clinton at an intern convention.
Just watch any debate between a conservative and a liberal politician on CNN or Fox News. The conservatives argument can never be heard over all the liberal insults and interruptions. Sometimes I want to shout at the Republic senator or congressman on television: Do something! Dont just sit there with a smile on your face! Fight back! But of course the Republican never does.
The problem is that older conservative Republicans, especially those in the Senate, consider themselves to be Elder Statesmen. Fighting fire with fire is beneath them.
Many are stereotypical Blue Blood rich conservatives. They wear blue suits with red ties, sit around dark libraries, sipping martinis and discuss intellectual and hypothetical ideas but never really accomplishing anything.
Just once, I would like to see a Republican senator tell a bloviating liberal to shut up on national television. But of course that will never happen. It is not statesmanlike.
Maybe the latest salvo fired by Nancy Pelosi and her "gang of liberal muck slingers" in the Democrat Party will change the minds of Blue Blood Republicans about fighting back.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is now running a fund-raising video on their website to help raise money for Democrat candidates in the November election. The video opens with the caption Things have taken a turn for the worse. It then takes viewers on a dome-and-gloom tour of the United States, trying to paint an Armageddon-like picture.
Or as Little Green Footballs might put it, "Democrats hit bottom, dig."
But isn't Baghdad safer today than Washington D.C.?
I wish there was a source to document the murders in the US vs soldiers killed in Iraq.
Impossible.
On second thought, that vibrant party of ideas and tremendous ideals probably has a lot more rope to play out.
I for one do not have a problem with flag draped coffins. These soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines are heroes. They gave their lives for god and country and deserve respect and honor.
And that is the problem. The RATS didn't show it that way. That is the campaign for Republicans in November. Run the same exact ad and change the words to honor our fallen heroes.
And make sure that "GOD & COUNTRY" is prominently featured. That will drive the RATS nuts.
That's why all those illegals come here,,,they want to get in on the awful suffering, gloom, and doom. Whasa matter wit dose fools??
I think our Vice President did a couple of years ago.
I think this is what you're referring to.....
On June 22, 2004 Leahy and Vice President Dick Cheney participated in the US Senate class photo. During this time, Cheney upbraided Leahy for Leahy's recent excoriations of Cheney over Halliburton's alleged war profiteering. The discussion ended with Cheney telling Leahy to "... go f*ck yourself"
Yeah, but the Democrats just keep digging deeper and deeper expecting to come out in China.
The democrats have sunk so low that they have created a s(t)ink hole straight through to China.
Rep. Steve King, a Republican of Iowa, on C-span rattled off some startling figures that demonstrate how off-base journalists are when it comes to reporting on the war in Iraq. According to Mr. King, the violent death rate in Iraq is 25.71 per 100,000. That may sound high, but not when you compare it to places like Colombia (61.7), South Africa (49.6), Jamaica (32.4), and Venezuela (31.6). How about the violent death rates in American cities? New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina was 53.1. FBI statistics for 2004-05 have Washington at 45.9, Baltimore at 37.7, and Atlanta at 34.9.
The point Mr. King was making is that if journalists covered only the violence in these other cities and countries, as they do in Iraq, our perceptions of these places would also be highly negative
Other American cities with higher violent civilian death rates than Iraq include:
Detroit: 41.8 per 100,000
Baltimore: 37.7 per 100,000
Atlanta: 34.9 per 100,000
St. Louis: 31.4 per 100,000
They are all overwhelmingly Democratic.
Very, very enlightening.
I just wish the facts were reported by Big Media so the uninformed would be a bit more educated.
the saddest part is those that think that by listening to the lamestream media they are informed!!!
I figured it out a while ago. When a liberal screeches at me, I let them go on. When they stop, I start to respond. When they inevitably interrupt, I stop suddenly, in mid-sentence. I don't start again. They usually ask why I stopped. I tell them, "I listened quietly to you. Then I started talking, and you interrupted. Say your piece, then shut up and I'll talk. If you can't do that, go away." They usually go away.
