That doesn't explain the first 1300 years of Islamic terrorism. Islam has always been a force for violence and terrorism, and sometimes other powers have felt they could use this for their own advantage.
Muslims first invaded Spain at the invitation of a Spanish king who was warring with another Spanish king and thought he had "agreed" with the Muslims to help him. Of course, they swept in and took over his kingdom as well.
The Russians and all others who have thought that Muslim viciousness could be harnessed have learned the hard way that some critters are just too vicious to handle and end up turning around and trying to kill you.

Learned the hard way? I still see them funding, arming, training, providing nuclear technology, etc to Middle East terror-states. Moreover, Russia (and Red China) extend these same terror-states veto power at the UN.
The Russian's are learning things all right. They have learned that if you call yourselves "ex" Communists, you get treated with respect, you get aid and trade from the West, you get to join the G-7 (now G-8), all the while be allowed to cause the same mischief all over the globe--GGG

Then why is Israel always making major concessions to them?

Radical Islam is going the way of Nazism; starting out as a small group of unorganized radicals and then growing to a large movement by blaming the Jews for all of their calamities and a belief that they were a superior race.

Why do people keep pointing to Nazism when Russia, Red China, and North Korea are their principle sponsors???

Has anything really changed since then? Russia and Red China are still busy arming, supporting and training the same Rogue's gallery as before. And they are still bent on incrementally bringing about Israel's defeat.

Same thing is still going on. After all, those who refuse to learn the lessons of history...

By the looks of today's news, Israel is determined to exterminate the leadership of Hezbolah and Hamas.
And they're having some success!

Highly doubtful. As soon as Russia and Red China up the ante the US will lean on Israel to back off and make more concessions in the name of "peace."
All the usual suspects are pressuring Israel to allow its enemies to dispatch her via a thousand cuts. Here's how it has always worked (fyi, Primakov is still up to his evil tricks as Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs):

Snow said Bush "believes the Israelis have the right to protect themselves and that in doing that they should limit as much as possible so-called collateral damage not only to facilities but also to human lives," Snow said.
Asked whether he agreed to Siniora's request to tell the Israelis to limit their military operations, Snow said: "No. The president is not going to make military decisions for Israel."

Fascism is their common factor, and remember that the Nazis were National Socialists. Hitler and Stalin were both fascist leaders, who carved up Poland together; then German socialism/fascism clashed with Russian socialism/fascism.

This strategy kind of went down the toilet when Hamas got elected by the Palestinians over the PLO.
