I can never figure out why it's alright for Israel to be attacked but never right for them to attack...according to the Vatican, the EU, etc.
Not a word when the PLO or Hizbullah is lobing missles into Israel, but let them retaliate and the world gets "up in arms."
Krauthammer had a great article this morning discussing that very thing.
I specifically reject the notion that the victim of an assualt must only respond proportionately. Particularly when assaults are repeated, the victim has the moral right to respond with deadly fury, IMO. The aggressor can avoid harm by behaving himself. All this applies among nations as it does on the street corner. You mess with people and you might get a can of Bernard Getz opened up on your butt. And I got no time for your whining about it.
Not true!
When that happens, there are LOTS of words, like "We must understand how the oppressed people of Lebanon feel", or, "If only Israel wasn't so cruel to the palestinian people".
Never underestimate a Euroweenie (and sadly, I must lump the Vatican in with the rest). They can ALWAYS find a reason to decry a free and democratic nation like Israel!
