I think it is important to remember "unnamed democrat" runs better in all presidential polls than any real live democrat. Here, I suspect unnamed democrat beats unnamed republican. But when you start naming names, the republicans come out better.

Also, this is registered voters not likely voters. Registered voters who don't vote are likely disillusioned which is another word for democrat.

Finally, the lead for unnamed democrat is only 11% which is not that big of a lead.

I guess we will be hearing the convoluted wishful thinking by the press for months now. Poll after poll after poll trying to tell themselves they are winning. When they lose, we will hear about stolen elections and diebold machines until the cycle repeats itself.

Im not sure some of this isnt just rant. No doubt conservatives are PO'd with the spinelessrepublicans and many will stay home. We have seen the GOP principles collapse under the current crop in DC.

Not really. We got tax cuts, stronger defense, fair judicial appointments, and a strong economy.

If gasoline goes down to 2 dollars a gallon, republicans win by 10 points and the gas prices and Katrina were not the republicans fault.

R's failed on entitlement reform, got filibustered on legal reform and that is about it as far as failure goes.

The status quo on immigration is more the result of the 45 democrat senators than the R's.

Notice that they said "conservatives", not "registered Republicans". There are a lot of conservative Democrats still in the south.

PEOPLE - Fox Poll had very similar results...are they now liberal pollsters??? Are they trying to create an illusion that people are swaying towards dims, as some here have suggested re the AP poll? I don't think so.

I am NOT comfortable with where we sit in 06 at all and if anyone here is, then imo they are not dealing in reality. There is much work to be done.

This generic question about which party will you vote for is a trick. We've seen this before and it proved false. It's about the specific candidate one votes for, not some generic party preference. By the way, remember that 75% of people questioned by polling groups do not want to give their opinion because there's a dislike of them (I believe it was Gallop organization that mentioned this). This is nothing but MSM psychological warfare and it is predictable. Didn't you read yesterday about how Republicans are more encouraged now. It's obvious the MSM can't let Republicans rest in good news. They forgot however that I'm (and others) no longer hang on to their every word. Yes, we have work to do, but the libs have need of amazing miracles. Oh that's right many of them don't believe in God. If national security stays the focus then libs are doomed.

The republican politicos are like Superman, Strong, Fast, and Tough. The problem is that, as my Grandmother used to say, they get too big for their britches.

The conservative electorate is like Batman. We're nowhere near as strong, fast or tough. What we DO have is, an indomitable will, an exquisite sense of what level of violence is appropriate, and with the vote, a huge chunk of kryptonite.

In essence we provide, for republican politicians, the same service that Bats does for Supes. We keep 'em on the straight and narrow.
