A Day in the Life of President Bush and Laura (overseas) - 7.13.06

At the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Bush traveled to northeastern Germany in advance of his participation in the G-8 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. Chancellor Merkel hosted President Bush today in the towns of Stralsund and Trinwillershagen, which are in the Chancellor's electoral constituency. The visit, which took place in what had been communist East Germany, underscores our two nations' commitment to advancing freedom and prosperity, and to strengthening the transatlantic partnership.

The President and the Chancellor took part in a joint press conference in the Straslund Town Hall, and the President also spoke in the historic market square. The First Lady visited a Kinderbibliothek (Children's Library) and toured Straslund City Archives and Baroque library, and attended a luncheon.

The First Couple visited St. Nikolai Church and toured it with Pastor Peter Neumann, and later traveled to the village of Trinwillershagen on the German Baltic Sea for a wild pig barbecue.

In tumultuous times it is reassuring to have a President who stands firm on principle and in strength of conviction and courage. Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on a MONSTER Dose!

Angela Merkle is a tall woman. I didn't realize that. She must be about 5' 10".

It's fun to see the pictures when they're overseas, but it's always a BIG relief when our dear First Couple get HOME!

I have swam a few times and have thought about Tae-Bo in the living room.

I will be glad when they are caught, too.

Hiya Deb! Hope all's well with you. I've enjoyed your post (as usual). Sorry I haven't taken time to respond, but don't take that as a bad thing - I've just been sooooo busy. I really do appreciate your efforts to keep us posted. If it weren't for you, I'd be missing a lot of really good stuff. =)

Wow looking at that it looks good and amazing how you can see the difference between the animal I have seen in Britain roasted.

I would say our pig is as large but a different shape

A hog and a boar are different. The hog is domesticated, and the boar is wild.

Probably tastes pretty gamey and it looks horrible! LOL!

Hi snugs. How have you and your dad been? I've only been able to skim through pictures and some pings for a while and I'm really out of touch. Everything is well?
