(CBS4/AP) TALLAHASSEE -- U.S. Representative Katherine Harris is losing another member of her campaign staff to unseat Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson in the U.S. Senate race and more resignations are expected.
Communications Director Chris Ingram says he's resigning to focus on his business. He said yesterday that he learned a lot working for Harris and wishes her the best.
Other key staff, including campaign manager Glenn Hodas, and field director Pat Thomas, are also expected to resign by the end of the week.
Harris said in a statement that she appreciates Ingram's efforts and wishes him well.
She also downplayed reports that Hodas, Thomas and other staff members are leaving, though didn't deny they will.
Harris has been plagued by a high turnover on her campaign staff.
The Republican has had three campaign managers since getting into the race last summer. Every other key position has been replaced as well.
Harris PING
Dang. What's going on with that campaign?
People are bailing on her like crazy, a sure sign that they have no faith in her ability to win the election.
Health could be the reason they are leaving.
I wish Katherine the best.
"People are bailing on her like crazy, a sure sign that they have no faith in her ability to win the election."
Well if that's the case , I would contend that they shouldn't be working on her campaign to begin with . No one can be sure that the candidate they are working for is going to win unless that candidate is unopposed .
Which is why they are quitting in droves.
An d they said she had no chance of becoming a congress person.
To bush she is like Israel nice when you need it otherwise expendable.
Health would be a reason for the candidate to drop out, not for her staff to bail.
Time for Tom Gallagher to step in.
Aside from being a moronic comment what in the world does Bush have to do with her campaign's revolving door for staffers?
No one said that. She ran for a safe Republican seat with a huge money advantage. She was universally favored, though for a while she was close to screwing up her reelection, IIRC.
As they should . Who would want people working for them who are unreliable in their faith of your candidacy ? Maybe they will go join Bill " Gump " Nelson's campaign . They can work for a " winner " that way .
Maybe they have resons for lack of faith in the candidate? Who would know better than those closest to her in the campaign?
Well he's definately going to lose the primary that he's in , so it might not be a bad idea considering that Harris's health is in question .
I seriously doubt that these people would be leaving if she was ahead in the polls . If you're a candidate, you don't need unreliable people surrounding you . Fair weather friends .....
I understand that you're simply trying to equate general campaign turnover into a candidacy on the skids, but that's simply not the case.

Heh. I guess what goes around comes around, because that's exactly how Arlen Specter treats Bush.
Most of the people associated with her campaign were stooges of Ed Rollins anyway.
