"A Regional war has begun."

Actually, this regional war began when the Iranian Thugs took over our Embassy and Carter allowed this to happen.

Since then the Iranian Islamofascist thugs has committed and allowed hundreds of acts of terror against Israel and America.

Exactly, and it might be better described as a World War with battles and flareups in various regions of the world.

Actually it was before that - when Jimmy the Peanut forced the Shah out and let the Islamic Thugs take over Iran. All of our problems in the middle east can be traced to that event.

Mark Bowden's book, "Guests of the Ayatollah: The First Battle in America's War with Militant Islam" (2006) dissects the Iran hostage crisis and its aftermath to the present day, including military details of the aborted secret rescue mission.

Don't be put off by the book's length; most entertaining, instructive and thorough, including individual hostage interrogations, escape attempts, Iranian culture quirks and Carter's real military and diplomatic choices, failures and behind-the-scenes maneuverings.

And you wouldn't want to miss Hamilton Jordan's vomiting in the White House toilet either.
