Israel controls all exits.
I hope that their generals can come to some way to accommodate the 2,500 U.S. citizens that are stranded here in Lebanon. This was not a war zone when we arrived, nor was there any reason for a reasonable person to expect that it would become one. I feel like Tom Hanks in that horrible movie "The Terminal." I'm trapped and cannot get out.
Prayers on the way for your safety.
The article supposes that Israeli forces will drive deeper into Lebanon than before because of the longer range missles Hezbollah now has.
I'd be concerned that this might mean that Hezbollah may retreat to the north and into Beirut.
What kind of mess that would make I wouldn't know. But I'd get my butt out.
Stay safe.
I'm sure the Israeli army wouldn't stop a U.S. airlift of its citizens by helicopter (possibly to Cyprus) if things start to deteriorate in Beirut. The IDF has very little reason to bomb Beirut hotels filled with western guests, and would leaflet the area telling guests to leave before attacking, in any event. You're probably in the safest place you can be right now, all things considered.
Talk about "timing" - are you always this lucky???
I agree with alot of the advice here...get as many "supplies as you can" - and fill everything with water (the tub sink etc)
get candles..matches!!!
any type of food - so you can "sit" this out.
Again, you are in our prayers, you will make it out! :)
You're in our prayers.
