The following message was posted to the Walter Reed After Action Report of Week 64, July 07,2006:
To: PleaDeal
I am one of many family members of soldiers who are presently at Walter Reed. We have been there now for six weeks, and with many more to go. After a very hard week of being with my 21 yr. old son who has been deployed to Iraq twice, and came home with stage 4 right renal cell carcinoma, {advanced kidney cancer}, It has been so absolutely refreshing and quite frankly, very helpful in dealing with our pain, to see you all out there supporting our sons, daughters and parents, in our most trying of times. To see the protesters out there with their signs of "We support the troops, but not the war" and others saying "money for education, not war", breaks my heart as a parent of a soldier who is so very sick. But there you all are showing the support that should be evident all across the country, and I feel better, at least for a few moments. So from a parent of a soldier there, please keep up the support for all of them, as I will tell you again, it does make a difference to all of us with loved ones right behind those gates. Thank you for your continuous support, and I will see all of you each and every Friday evening that we will be there. God Bless All!

This is the reason we stand in support of our troops against the antiAmerican, antitroop liberal a##holes. The pinkos say they support the troops but their own web sites spell out in detail how much they lie.
We cannot let these people turn the WOT that our troops are fighting and dying, for turn into Vietnam where the politicians cut and run. While it is easy to FReep the leftist a##holes in the D.C. area, FReepers all over the United States are doing their share of supporting our troops. Even if you can't make a FReep, there are many other ways to support the troops.
Here are several of the ways you can help. Feel free to add others when you read this AAR. I'll add them to next weeks Report.
Gatorade/Beef Jerky for the Troops
Soldier's Angels have a great list of sites that support the troops.
Soldier's Angels Preferred Support Groups
Fisher House also has a list of programs that one can donate to and volunteer for. JLO found on their site where one can donate extra air miles to the troops. Look under the "Our Special Programs" for specific programs.
Now to step off my bully pulpit and get to the issue at hand, The Olney FReep.
Olney once again out number the moonbats this week, our 8 to their 7. The list of attendees were: Regulars Lurker Bill, [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), and myself and then there was Mr. of Mr.Mrs.RedWhiteBlue (Mr. RWB) and again two of his kids, and new Legion Post Commander Halsey. Halsey is a Marine Gunny who served during the Korean War. Thank you all for coming.
We used Doctor Raoul's bull horn (BELOW) to play patriotic music during our FReep. It hangs nicely on the post that we attach one of our American Flags. One lady was singing and bobbing her head to the music as she drove by. It was nice to hear patriotic music while on our corner. No comment from the moonbats.
We had two people stop by to Thank us for being out there. One guy BELOW first stopped by the moonbats and talked to them for a while. He left fairly disgusted and came over to our side. He primarily talked to CTS about how different the WOT is from Vietnam and the true "Quacker" beliefs. They did find a similarity between Vietnam and the WOT. It is that the moonbats are once trying again to undermine the determination of the United States to keep us and the world safe.
One comment I talked to him about was that we needed some posters supporting President Bush. As at Walter Reed, political signs are not used at these types of FReeps since most people really support the troops and their mission, but some have misgivings about POTUS. Also, sometime too many different messages dilute the central message. We'll leave the "Support Bush" signs for when Cindy Sheschrew is at Crawford and other FReeps directly supporting him.
BELOW LEFT: Commander Halsey, and appropriately placed green sign with arrow point to myself lighting cigar before getting my sign. BELOW RIGHT: Junior FReepers
BELOW LEFT: Commander Halsey and Lurker Bill. BELOW RIGHT: Mr. RWB and CTS.
BELOW: Great banners donated by Albion Wilde. The newest on the left. This is its second FReep, the first was at Walter Reed the night before.
BELOW: Just a neat pic by [Mrs] T
The moonbats are again scrapping the bottom of the barrel this week.
BELOW LEFT: Moonbat making fun of POTUS's Texas accent. I think the sign is supposed to say "Constitution" but it took me a while to figure it out. Cars zipping by would never be able to understand it. Peek-A-Boo seems to have come out of her "closet" with new political sign. BELOW RIGHT: Chief Grumpy is grumpy looking even when talking.
BELOW: The moonbats side.
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney, MD
Same time, 3 PM to 4:30 PM
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
RE: Olney FReep -
If you live in northern VA and want a short cut to Olney, here it is. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the American Legion Bridge.
A special Thanks to BufordP for enhancing the original plain type directions.

As the world burns they fiddle.
I finally had the opportunity to mention about the air mile donation to the troops that you found.
[Mr] T
Especially true in the last couple of days. Pray for the Israelis.
[Mr] T
A great AAR again Mr T. Moon bats new sign is as stupid as she looks, In her 60's hairdew!!
[Mrs T]
Thanks for the links. I joined Operation Baby Blanket.
Bong to the top!
Absolutely great!! Score another one for the good guys.
One always wonders what people do when they get information like this.
Thanks for supporting the troops.
[Mr] T
Outstanding! So good to see how much the soldiers and families at WR appreciate the support.
Great job!
I've wanted to contribute in some way. I'm a former dependent (USAF, Carter Admin.) wife. Operation Baby Blanket allows me connect with a pregnant wife, or new mother, married to a deployed or nearly deployed serviceman. I'd offer friendship and support to the new mom in absence of her husband. Families of servicemen and women sacrifice as well and are in need...this seemed like a good for me to start helping. I wouldn't have found this opportunity without your post.
I am really pleased that you found a way to help the troops and their families thru this thread. I might just put the links in this thread on a thread of its own.
Thank you for helping the troops. You are correct in stating that the families also need support. In every day life, whenever someone is sick or dies, I try to talk to the family members because as you said, they also need comfort.
If I write a thread, can I please use your comments from this thread?
[Mr] T
Yes, please do. I think it's great to provide info for the different avenues of support for the troops and their families...not all of us can provide the same type or level of support. Operation Baby Blanket seemed right for me; I told my sister who seemed enthusiastic about it as well. She mentioned enlisting the help of her two young daughters for letter writing and cards.
A thread might encourage others to provide links to troop-supporting actitivies and organizations in their local communities.
If you do use my post, please correct my omission of the word "way" in my second-to-last sentence!
Great report - as usual!!!!
It's wonderful to see people stopping by to add their support to yours.
