John McCain may be the last man in America...[Esquire Interview]
Esquire ^ | Aug. 2006 | Chris Jones

Posted on 07/12/2006 8:23:56 PM PDT by Unam Sanctam

..."I urge my friends who complain about the influence of the religious Right, get out there and get busy. That's what they do! Now, if we believe in the Republican party of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, the big-tent party, then we have to get out there and show that. The fact is, some of us have sat idly by while those very active people have basically set the agenda for our party. I get attacked every day because I'm working with Ted Kennedy. How can I work with Kennedy? Because I want to get something done!" ...

McCain will not be the nominee given this kind of language.

"McCain will not be the nominee given this kind of language."

McCain will not be the nominee. Period.

Best post I read all day.

My sentiments exactly--- that says it all!!!

(superfluous comments following)

McCain's pathetic, pandering interview reminds me of the Jimmy Carter's in Playboy-- both say whatever they think whoever they're around wants to hear, whether it's Playboy, Esquire, Ted Kennedy or Yassir Arafat.

Straight talk express my ass.

I'm definitely not all about McCain, but I think this particular comment doesn't have to be taken as a condemnation of the religious Right. It could be taken as an encouragement for those with different viewpoints to participate more, rather than sit there b!tching and moaning. True, that means he is encouraging people to challenge the religious Right, but I don't think he is making a condemnation.

However, on the Ted Kennedy collaboration - I think we can judge the fruit of that effort by the stench it emits.

Let the lame stream media, and John McLame believe what they want.

As long as they linger in Neverland, the conservative movement at the least has a good chance.

Hot dang tamale! I thought I had heard this one Sunday, and lo and behold--Google works!

I was thinking the day I heard this how frightening it would be for this nutter to have his finger on the nuke button every day if he won.

Add it together with your pic, and WOW!!

Don't let him give you a ride home, John, especially at night or anywhere near water

There are just so many problems with this nut, it's hard to try to list them all.

Maybe some need to be reminded of the antics he gave the thumbs-up to in Michigan, where busloads of Detroit 'Rats flooded the 2000 GOP Presidential primary to try to hijack the nomination away from Dubya. Remember, it's unlikely those same voters would've voted GOP in the general. Any Republican who encourages stunts like that to override the wishes of the GOP rank-and-file has completely lost my respect, period.

I am beginning to think the MSM want him in the race so that he can implode and let Hillary or any other MSM candidate of choice have a cake walk.

He also seems to have the same type of relationship with Teddy that Monica had with Bill. She thought she would get something more substantial out of that relationship as well. I wonder when he will start wearing little blue dresses?

If McCain is the last man in America, have all our privates been replaced with Silly Putty secretly?

Well, I'll just let the libs keep their definition of "man," and I'll keep mine.

(hrumph! This from people who debate the meaning of the verb, "is.")

McCain literally means, son of Cain. Putting on flame proof suit now, but look it up in the Bible.

That's exactly what the MSM wants. He is so dense that he believes they like him when their sole purpose is to make sure he gets the nomination so they can unload all the ammo we already know about him that make him unfit to lead afterwards. It really isn't that hard to make him look like a nut with a serious anger-management control problem.

I wonder if it would be instructive to the sheeple if some ''news'' pimp on one of the Sunday shows would flash the Queen of Diamonds at McLame.

Might be quite interesting. Won't happen, of course, given the gutless leftist SOBs who infest those programmes.

My gut tells me you're quite right.

But I don't know in my conscious mind what that card would mean.

Could you clue me in, please--am currently clueless about that.

Others would add, about a lot else, besides.

Sure he would. If put through a meat grinder, allowed to rot for a few days, and any real man could be bothered to sit on the residue for a few hours.

Absent that, you're exactly right and WELL said!

Given your sobriquet, ''McChurian'' for ''Ace'' McCain, so called because he crashed 5 aircraft (which I sobriquet I absolutely love, btw -- WELL done!), my reference was to the original film ''The Manchurian Candidate'', wherein Lawrence Harvey and Frank Sinatra, among others, were captured and quite forcibly brainwashed by the North Koreans in that war.

The kimchi a&&holes (my term for NoKo filth) sent them back to the US, once brainwashed, as sleeper assassins. One of the ''triggers'' to activate their obedience to order was the flashing of the Queen of Diamonds. Ultimately, a little pansy Senator, under the thumb of his wife (Angela Lansbury in the film -- she made a marvelously sinister conspirator, btw) was to be nominated to the Presidency as the goal of the kimchi plot.

If you've not seen the film, I simply won't give away the ending. One of the finest nerve-wracking, tension-filled dramas ever made, in my humble view. WELL worth your viewing, I absolutely guarantee you. Made in 1962, plus/minus a year.

I should suppose that your local Blockbuster would have it. ''Suppose'', because the film was suppressed in the US for YEARS AND YEARS after its debut in theatres (mustn't portray the Commies as bad folks, dontchaknow), but is appearing on cable from time to time now.

FReegards to you!
