It seems that no one knows the true story about Schlesinger. Is he a "card counter" as he supposedly claimed? Then he has been to casinos more than a few times. He also seems to have used an assumed name while gambling. Suspicious activity for someone who has only been to the casinos a few times.

I recently had a chance to speak to Schlesinger and he told me that he is pro-choice, although he supports restrictions like parental notification. He is also pro-stem cell research. When pressed as to whether that included fetal stem cells he faltered saying that he would have to get more info on that. C'mon. Anyone who knows what stem cell research is knows about the controversy regarding fetal stem cells.

He is for the Marriage and Flag-burning Amendments and talks like a deficit hawk. However, the gambling thing may sink him. All it takes is one embarrassing revelation to sink a politician. Remember Ed Muskie?

Sort of a moot point since I think neither he nor any Republican has a chance of winning anyway.

I wonder why he had to use an assumed name just because he was an elected official. If he was doing nothing wrong, why not use his real name? I can't remember when I signed up for my Foxwoods and Mohegan cards but I think you had to show ID for that. So I don't know how he was able to use another name.
