Agreed. But if he's guilty, should he be punished? Is it wrong to rape and kill a girl - unless she's Muslim?

"Innocent until proven guilty" applies to the judicial system. I, as a private citizen, can decide, based on the evidence that I am aware of, that I think someone is most-likely innocent or guilty. Doesn't mean squat in a court of law, but that's not where I am.

Actually, it is "Presumed innocent until proven quilty in a court of law". If he did this, he is quilty of a crime whether it can be proven in court or not. If he did not do this, then he is not quilty. But his quilt is not conditional on a conviction, just the presumption by a court.
