Good point. I recall reading that at the start of the 6 Day War there was blood on the floor over weather the IDF should go into the West Bank or not.

Yeah, but the problem is what does Israel do afterwards? How do they occupy countries with millions and millions of hostile people? You occupy a few miles wide defensive strip in the south as they did for two decades while the world whined about the abuse of the local Arabs. Moves the rockets back a bit farther. Unfortunately the Christian militias aren't around any more to help.
