I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

This week, Vanity Fair, the Washington Post and The New York Times, as well as other media outlets, reported that Richard Armitage, former Deputy Secretary of State, told Bob Woodward of the Washington Post that Ms. Wilson worked for the CIA. There has been media speculation that Mr. Woodward’s source and Mr.Novak’s source are the same person. If the facts ultimately show that Mr. Armitage or someone else from the State Department was also Mr. Novak’s primary source, then the State Department (and certainly not Mr. Libby) bears responsibility for the “leak” that led to the public disclosure of Ms. Wilson’s CIA identity.

But no one know who the primary source is.

On the thread of Novak's artlcle there is a screen cap of the CNN set showing the Who's Who on the table.
The MSM is ignoring this story. They know that Novak is not going to reveal his primary source. So they are not giving Novak any coverage.

Not going to happen.
The only thing that Novak can say that will be newsworthy is his opinion of Fitzgerald, the investigation which clearly had no basis in terms of violation of law and the Libby prosecution. We are not going to learn any more than we do now about who the original source was.
And according to Novak so does president Bush.
We do know it is not Rove. But we do know that Rove knew who Vallery Plame was. Novak says Rove confirmed that Vallery Plame got Joe Wilson his job.

Did Wilson have another wife that he divorced in 1997, or did someone lie to the reporter of the article you linked? The Who's Who listing says that he divorced his first wife in 1986.
Does Wilson lie every time he opens his mouth?
Nobody in Foggy Bottom seems to find it out of the ordinary that Wilson's wife had to find him work. How many other jobs did Mrs Wilson create for Joe ?
What's the difference between the unqualified Wilson wasting time in Africa, sitting around sipping green tea
and the Sopranos where Vito Spatafore and his cohorts sit around the work site in lawn chairs , doing nothing and collecting union pay checks ?
I would bet Colin Powell as the source. He is the perfect fit. Knew about Plame's involvement in early July 2003. Has been interviewed by Novak before. Isn't mentioned by Novak. Definitely is not a political gunslinger. The glove fits, but it is not the answer Democrats want.
