I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source... I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

You're missing the 3rd part, what's gone unsaid.

Part One: Who's Who exposes "Valerie Plame" as Joe Wilson's Wife.

Part Two: Primary Source told Novak that "Wilson's wife sent him to Africa"

Part Three is the secondary source, the part left unsaid so far: Joe Wilson...who told Novak that his wife was CIA.

Novak stated early on that Plame's name was listed the Who's Who entry of Joe Wilson and said that any good reporter would always 1st look to such entries for biographical information.

As stated all along, she was not outed. The MSM ignored his statement. He did not SHOUT it out in a leftist repeated fashion. So, it became ignored.

Thus, the Special Prosecutor is pursuing a crime that did not exist and is engaging in Prosecutorial Abuse, which act is rarely prosecuted.

So Fitzgerald's ridiculous claim that he was protecting "an important principle" by indicting Libby, and indeed his whole investigation, was nothing more than a pathetic, despicable smear job. If the prosecutor knew, as now appears incontrovertably to be true, that there was in fact nothing to investigate,

Novak has not said that his primary source was Joe Wilson. Everyone needs to re read the National Review article. He says after talking to his primary source he learned of Valarie's name by going to the Who's Who of America.

He has not mentioned who his primary source is yet because his source has not come forward.

So my guess is his primary source told him it was Joe's wife who sent him on the trip but did not give her name and then Novak went to the Who's Who's of America and got her name.

But yes Joe did end up giving away his wife's name by putting it in the Who's who's article and by many other ways such as the Vanity Fair article. So Wilson has nothing to blame but himself.
