We certianly have important issues to deal with. However, in his short tenure as Governor, Tim Kaine has managed to a) give the opposition response to the State of the Union address and b) conspire with RINOs in the Virginia Senate to try and raise our taxes (a $1.5 billion surplus isn't enough).
Given that track record, this event stands out as his shining accomplishment. I hope our esteemed Governor spends the next three and and half years searching ancient court records and delivering justice to long dead souls.

wow, it refreshing to know that VA doesn't have any other important issues to deal with....... You know, I'm not one to defend Kaine for anything. But I doubt he actually spent much time on this. The woman in Virginia Beach lobbied for it for a good while. Kaine was responding to a constituent.
It got him some decent press, and took very little effort. It's a decent PR move.
