Lunatic doesn't believe in God. His God is his science. So be it. He'll never be convinced otherwise so just let him be. I completely disagree with him but that's ok.
When my son was born, i flashed back to a conversation with my now wife where we discussed a potential abortion. I was appalled at myself that I had even considered snuffing out his life, whether he was scientifically "viable" or not.

He just has faith in man and not his Creator.
I agree, however, that there is no point in continuing this discussion. Until he becomes aware of how much his religion dominates his thinking and destroys his ability to reason, nothing will be accomplished.
