Blue cities like Detroit are the country's abcessed wounds, never healing, sickening the entire nation.

"Detroit"

Michigan would be a red state if it wasn't for that hell hole.

Detroit blames racism on its failures.

Course, there are 21 (all blacks) on that council.

Detroit has one city employee per 41 residents. For comparison, Indiapolis has 1 for every 201 residents. There is a statute in MI that mandates that Detroit get about 25% of the state's revenue sharing funds, but only has about 10% of the state's population. They get $1.1 billion per year for "educating" the chirrrun, but have about a 50% graduation rate. That's from State Rep. Jack Brandenburg.

I've also heard elsewhere that there are around 9000 abandoned properties in Detroit.

Kwame is a corrupt, "thug-liaafe" gangsta-lifestyle kind of mayor, giving cushy city jobs to his friends.

Detroit is also, if anyone cared to look, a source of great vote fraud.

I was born and raised in Detroit. Until about 1965 it was a great place to live. By the early 70s crime began to take over. The last white administration answered with STRESS: Stop Robberies and Enjoy Safe Streets.

Cops would pose as stranded motorists looking like easy marks, when the criminal attempted a mugging, they were arrested.

The ACLU, NAACP, Democratic Party, and every leftist group in the city screamed. The Chief of Police was replaced, so was the administration. What followed was the message to citizens "as regards crime, you are on your own".

In 2000 my mother was mugged. I live 175 miles away. When I went to the police and asked for more protection an officer told me to move her out of town. I did.

Looks what's left in the city. Drugs, crime, poverty, welfare. One parent households bringing up kids. The schools are a kid's warehouse, and the police merely help victims with paper work for their insurance company.

This is the result of forty years of liberal policy.

I was just in Detroit. Drove by the old tiger stadium and went into Motor City Casinos. Detroit is a mess. The only thing saving it is the gambling. The city has been decimated by corrput politicians who just happen to be black. That's correct, corrupt black politicians killed detroit.

Democrats and RINOS hate the idea of personal responsibility.
If a person has to depend on the government for transportation, housing, etc, the government has more power over the people.

Papa Hobo
Words & music by Paul Simon

Mm------
It's carbon and monoxide
The ole Detroit perfume
It hangs on the highways
In the morning
And it lays you down by noon

Oh Papa Hobo
You can see that I'm dressed like a schoolboy
But I feel like a clown
It's a natural reaction I learned
In this basketball town

Sweep up
I been sweeping up the tips I've made
I'm living on Gatorade
Planning my getaway

Detroit, Detroit
Got a hell of a hockey team
Got a left-handed way
Of making a man sign up on that
Automotive dream, oh yeah, oh yeah

Oh, Papa Papa Hobo
Could you slip me a ride?
Well, it's just after breakfast
I'm in the road
And the weatherman lied,
Oo-------, Ah-----, Oo-------

Detroit, Michigan is a City in which all elements of political power is controlled by Democrats. It is absolute control as far back as I can remember. State wide elected Democrats, including Governor Granholm, do absolutely nothing to provide reform to the citizens of Detroit. “Detroit schools send more kids to prison and the welfare rolls than they do to college.”

New Orleans is Detroit (Det-wa) South then?

http://www.ci.detroit.mi.us/fAQ.htm

The fact that these questions are frequently asked is just sad.

Q There’s an abandoned vehicle on my street. How do I get it removed?
Q There’s an abandoned building on my street. What should I do to have it demolished?
Q I understand the U.S. government provides commodity food for distribution. Who is eligible for receiving the food and where does one pick it up?
Q Whom do I call to report persistent gang activity?

et cetera...
