My brother and sister-in-law are visiting Israel this week and next on a trip with other members of her synagogue. Personally I think they're nuts to go now. But she's a liberal, and my perception is that she doesn't think anything bad can happen to her.
The best you can do is give them a going
away gift from the army/navy surplus store.
I just don't get it. Why does any Jewish person choose to be liberal? It's self-defeating.
I have a dear friend that is moving there this month. The majority of his family live there and a fantastic job offer availed itself.
I am deeply afraid for him, but he says one cannot live one's life in fear of terrorism or they win. I hear him, I admire him, but I do wish he would change his mind and stay.
Nothing bad will happen to her, rest assured. I just left Israel three weeks ago after two years. My son is returning to finish school. Unfortunately, being a liberal just blinds her to understanding that Israel's existance is in God's hands, and the finances in American Christians:)
