As many as think they can get away with it. If they don't think they can get away with it they are peaceful people who would never harm their neighbors and regret sincerely the false interpretation of Islam promoted by radicals abroad.

This about sums it up. The real question is not whether this or that Muslim is "moderate" now. It is how "moderate" they would be if the cost of radicalism was lower.
My brother and sister-in-law are visiting Israel this week and next on a trip with other members of her synagogue. Personally I think they're nuts to go now. But she's a liberal, and my perception is that she doesn't think anything bad can happen to her.
