HOOKER HELL (Bloomberg's New York...)
NY Post ^ | 7/10/06 | DOUGLAS MONTERO and PERRY CHIARAMONTE

Posted on 07/10/2006 3:48:58 AM PDT by jimbo123

Newcomers to Hell's Kitchen, who pay top dollar to live in the hot neighborhood, are having a devil of a time dealing with a resurgence in some of the area's longtime inhabitants - prostitutes.

The in-your-face, scantily clad night crawlers, who for years discreetly plied their wares from pimp-owned cars, are back to their pre-Giuliani days of streetwalking, traffic-stopping parades in front of flesh-hungry motorists, according to residents and community leaders.

The Post recently spotted about a dozen of the hard-working, high-heeled hookers strutting up and down West 47th and 48th streets between Ninth and 11th avenues - not far from cops posted at the Lincoln Tunnel to thwart potential terrorist attacks.

Several shocked newcomers to the area - including some young families dishing out up to $3,000 a month in rent - said realtors had assured them that the neighborhood was "up and coming."

>>>>Bloomberg is not lazy; at least this doesn't demonstrate sloth because he believes in the rights of slime and scum to occlude the rights of Citizens.

It's as if we expect border control agents to do what a century of communism could not: defeat the natural market forces of supply and demand and defeat the natural human desire for freedom and opportunity.

"Most of the working "girls" on West 47th and West 48th are really men."

I'm shocked, just shocked. This worldwide exploitation and trafficking of helpless and innocent men has GOT TO BE STOPPED!

That was actually the first place I ever had a "prairie fire". (Tequila moderated with hot sauce instead of Lime and salt)

I've had one bad meal there years ago and was never prepared to give it another try.

>>>In any election in NYC a Democrat disguised as a Left Republican is probably superior to any Democrat who makes it to the nomination. That does not make him good, or even acceptable to decent folk, just better than the Democrat. Sometimes it is a case of the lesser of two horrors.

I keep hearing that when it comes time for elections and you have to choose between a RINO and a Dem.

I don't fully get that analogy though. How is supporting the left in infiltrating our party better? That needs to be squashed. If anything, I find it more of a threat. If we let the left infiltrate the conservative Republican party, then the parties become one.

Bloomingidiot is too busy worrying about whether or not other states have the freedom to carry firearms to be worried about something so insignificant as street crime in NY City.

My granparents lived in Rego Park, Queens during the late 80's and during that time, several drug dealers and prostitutes set up shop around Elliott Ave. The residents were routinely harrassed and threatened. The dealers/prostitutes would disappear when the police were called and reappear after the police left. Then one night, a prostitute got shot w/ a low caliber round in the leg. A couple of nights later, another was shot in the leg. After the third sniper incident (unsolved), the problem seemed to disappear.

In most of Nevada prostitution is illegal. In places like Las Vegas, it is largely ignored except for streetwalkers, who are seldom seen, although they were commonplace twenty years ago.

Man, I would really hate to see New York go back to the hellhole days. It was so much nicer when Rudy got it under control.

"As for the New York magazine, I read it every now and again(I have the current issue on my desk with Woody Allen/Scarlett Johansen on the cover). It's one of the biggest Bush-hating rags out there, wth a severe case of BDS. There is hardly anything political in that mag that makes doesn't attempt to attack President Bush in one way or another.
Its a RATS propaganda outlet."

It's a total Bush hate rag. You can't be further left then these limp wristed snorters. To quote it on this board is.........oh well.

" How is supporting the left in infiltrating our party better? "

What you have to realize is that this is a country of 50 states with a very wide range of political cultures.
We have the North East states and the West Coast, which are for the most part quite liberal, then we have the largely conservative heartland and the south.

What may be "conservative" in say New York., may be considwered liberal in the south.

As a political Party, we have 2 options: either write off the liberal states altogether, and keep running very solid conservatives, keep losing and be reduced to the fringes of politics in the liberal states, or run Republicans who are not quite so conservative, and be very competitive with the RATS in these states, like the Republican Party has been in New York, winning the office of mayor for 16 straight years.

It's a no brainier.

You have it so right. NY is slipping back to Dinkins Time.

Graffiti all over the subways, hookers, panhandlers, and my guess is that the squeegie guys are not far behind.

Blooming-idiot and his guy Kelly are not about to disturb the city's street people.

"But would you deprive one group of citizens the power of imposing their morals on another group of citizens."

Yes I would. Muslim extremist would be the first. Second would be these self appointed leaders of morality who don't practice what they preach. The ones who preach against hooking and then is caught with a whore. Or the ones who come out with books that preach morality and then we find out they like to gamble big time. Or the ones that preach family values but have no problem with divorce.
