no one has a right to change your work to their liking, for family reasons or not.. how would you like if some FR censor started editing your posts to be more politically correct..

Who owns the films? It seems pretty clear so I'm surprised it took this long to decide the case.

They've been doing it for years. You should see the crummy vhs copy of "Death Wish 2" that I bought, and is missing about seven minutes. Other action/slasher movies like "Exterminator" and "Exterminator 2" from less pc days also are missing huge chunks.

Hollywood edits their own films all the time. They just don't want anybody else doing it.

If anyone who wished could see the original, why should I care.

The movie moguls will have to deal with the sanitization houses in one manner or other. The latter will, of course, begin to point out problems with every one of these precious Hollywood films to audiences who still care, mostly religious Catholics and evangelicals. So Hollywood can only lose. If Hollywood were smart rather than willful, it would farm out sanitization to the people who know what the audiences would rather miss hearing and seeing.

Wrong analogy. These are products the family paid for and intend for personal use.

So you should ask: what if some FR censor bought copies of your post (earning you money), took them home and edited out all the words he didn't like so when his kids read them he was okay with that?

since movies are a commodity.....made solely to make money....what artistic right is being violated if some thoughtful person wiped out objectionable material AT THE BUYER'S REQUEST????

doesn't the stinking movie maker still get his cut, maybe even more since people with good taste will actually purchase their product.....
