Raising the minimum wage, said Kennedy, "is a moral issue of enormous importance and consequence. It's a defining issue about what our society is really about. Whether we reward work, whether we have respect for individuals that work hard and play by the rules, whether we are going to follow the great teachings of the Beatitudes, which inspire so many of us in terms of our responsibilities to our fellow human beings, and if we believe in those fundamental tenets of the Judeo-Christian ethic we cannot fail but to believe that the minimum wage must be a livable wage for all our fellow citizen."
I guess this makes Kennedy a fundamentalist???
IN any case, the minimum wage is a states issue...if at all.
New Yorkers have a FAR FAR different cost of living than do rural Ohioans, for example. (Military pay scale cost of living payments prove this....I can't imagine anyone arguing with it.)

Hey Teddy, what does Christianity say about leaving a girl behind to drown in your car?
What an unmitigated POS. Any time he talks about a "moral issue" I want to barf.

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE say it again. Where is People for the Separation of Church and State press conference lamenting this breach of our Constitution. Where are they when you need them............Why this is those fundamentalist left wing Christians trying to push their idea of Christianity down all of our throats.. Really the NERVE of such people. I want to see where Jesus preached about a minimum wage. Show me TEDDY where is it. Leave religion out of our secular government. How dare you.

Luke 18:18-23
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. You first Ted.

I want to see where Jesus preached about a minimum wage.
It's in Hesitations 7:25 - "Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt set the lowest of thy daily bread at no less than a tithe of thy highest daily bread."
Which translated means: We all get a tenth of what Bill Gates is worth.....that's about 3 bil to each of us.
Pretty cool, huh?
I just solved poverty.

"This is an issue of morality that cries out for justice ..." said Kennedy.
An issue of morality that cries out for justice is Ted doing time for MAry Joe's untimely demise.

Where is People for the Separation of Church and State press conference lamenting this breach of our Constitution. Where are they when you need them The same place there were when Clinton showed up for the cameras with a 12 pound bible.
No where.
The reason is obvious, isn't it? The Left does really "mean it" when they speak of Christ.
Jesus was (and remains) the most polarizing figure in history.
You are are with Him, or against Him.
