There were some key comments in this failure. "2007" and "there was a sense of collective will that we will see the program of action implemented".
It ain't over until we get "Us out of the UN and the UN out of the U.S."

I think it would be morbidly funny if the headline read:
UN guns meeting ends in disarray - 2 Dead, 7 Wounded

It would focus on a set of global principles to govern the transfer of all small arms and light weapons, and develop a strategy to mobilize enough resources to put the 2001 plan of action into effect in countries that lack the money and trained personnel to do so. As well, it would look for ways to reduce the demand for guns used by criminals and militias that routinely violate human rights. "govern the transfer of all small arms and light weapons"
Besides the normal right and determination not to become 'gun-less' = I don't think these numbskulls take into account the added sense of the need for means of self-protection the muzzies intent to kill us all has added to the situation. But "numbskull" and "liberal/socialist" is synonymous.
Back in my investigative reporter days, I infiltrated some democrat/socialist meetings (and they CALL themselves Democrat Socialists) and they all ended, invariably, in chaos. It's the natural outcome of the workings of minds are hardwired backwards

The U.S. opposed a further UN review meeting. And it is unlikely to support Canada's proposal for a parallel conference in Geneva. Thank you John Bolton and President Bush!

I'll bet the lying bastards at the Brady Center (aka Handgun Control) and the Violence Policy Center are wailing and gnashing their teeth.
From what I have seen over the years, the prime qualification, for employment at the Brady Center or the Violence Policy Center, is being a damned liar.

The conference was held behind closed doors The hallmark of tyrants. One needs no further information to understand the evil of these people.

Is anybody else worried about this INTERNATIONAL meeting that was held BEHIND closed doors?
(Not that there is anything to worry about an international taxpayer-funded left-wing conspiracy, or anything like that.)

"must do everything in its power to stop the carnage wrought by the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons, while respecting the legitimate interests of lawful firearms producers, exporters, retailers and users."Interesting change of tone from the original conference back a few years ago.
The NRA's participation as an NGO definitely helped.
