With less than two weeks to go before the July 18 primary, a judge on Friday issued a restraining order blocking enforcement of Georgia's voter ID law.
The state immediately announced its intention to appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court.
Coweta's election officials greeted the news with some frustration.

Figures.
Dead people don't need no stinkin' ID.
"And irreparable harm will result if the 2006 Photo ID Act is not enjoined," Westmoreland wrote in the sharply-worded ruling.
"An injunction before trial must be reluctantly granted and only upon a clear showing that it is demanded by the Constitution," he wrote.
Hmmm, I wonder how Westmoreland would rule on any requirement to register to own a firearm. Methinks he is a liar about his reasoning here.
Just out of curiosity, does one need to show ID to get into any Georgia state buildings, offices, or other facilities?
I have lived in Georgia for five years and haven't had to do so as of yet. I did have to turn over my vicious yellow handled Eye brand three bladed pocketknife to enter traffic court in Atlanta. That was in 2,000, five years before the shooting.
Westmoreland went on to write that "where the right of suffrage is fixed in the Constitution it cannot be restricted by the legislature, but only by the people through an amendment to the Constitution."
Westmoreland said that the 17 forms of ID some with photos and some without that had been allowed in previous elections can be used at the polls for the primary. Voters who lack one of those IDs can also continue to attest to their identity under oath. Westmoreland was appointed to the bench by former Democratic Gov. Zell Miller.
Maybe I'm dense but by this judge's logic, if the new ID requirement with 6 types acceptable is unconstitutional, wouldn't the old system with 17 forms of ID also be unconstitutional?
This judge KNOWS what the end of voter fraud will do to the rat.
Thats interesting, considering that Zell Miller appointed this guy.

Miller supports the ID law.
Its the governor (Roy Barnes) before him that's opposing it.
And Miller is one of the handful of honest RATS; he probably regrets the appointment.
>Thats interesting, considering that Zell Miller appointed this guy.<
No surprise Zell towed the liberal line except for those 2 long years he had in the Senate. He was pro abortion and pro Clinton. He introduced "serpant head" and Clinton.
>And Miller is one of the handful of honest RATS; he probably regrets the appointment.<
No he just blows with the wind. That's why they call him Zig Zag Zell.
(The Palestinian terrorist regime is the crisis and Israel's fist is the answer.)
Aren't these the same geniuses who said you can't cuff convicts when they're being brought to trial because it conveys a semblance of guilt?
And we all remember what became of that...
