I missed the first 15 minutes.

Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs Burns is on now talking about N. Korea.

Timmy is complaining about the tone and rhetoric from Bush regarding Kim Jong Il.

Burns says that Kim is a despot and the human rights he's denied his own people and thinks the substance of our policy has been consistent.

Tim: When the president talks about the axis of evil, he invaded Iraq and that Iran and N. Korea took the lesson from that if you have the nuclear bomb, you won't be invaded by the US.

Burns: N. Korea miscalculated because their neighbors are upset; it's not just the US. In Europe, when Rice meets with her counterparts, you'll see that NK has to choose to let go of their nuclear power or face sanctions in the Security Council. Very few people are defending NK.

Tim: Based on exerience in Iraq and no WMD, former CIA Director Deutch says that the next time we want to go to war,a there will be skepticism with regard to our intelligence.

Burns: I don't agree with that. I've been to Europe and not one country or person in those governments don't think that Iran and NK are going forward with their nuclear capabilities. There is no argument remotely similar to what we went through with our allies in 2002 and 2003 with regard to Iraq.

Burns is GOOD!

I guess Tim would have preferred we left Hussein alone and just hoped he didn't get nukes.

timmy seems to have gotten his talking points from mad maddie albright. That's the new 'katrina'......NK is all Bush's fault. They were just minding their business being good neighbors to South Korea and the rest of the world until Bush became President.

"Burns is GOOD!"

FoxNews .. Undersecretary Burns was asked some stupid question by Wallace and I loved the answer by Burns. Another seg Burns is answering a question and Wallace mouth is going so fast he can't hear the answer. Burns is sharp!

Nicholas Burns .......... Chris, I'm not going to help you guess what North Korea is going to do!

Krystol says we ought to walk away from 6 way talks - Mara (or whatever) says we have set the bar too high - if we fail we look weak and impudent. (the clinton way)

Beacause Mara can't hear options to hitting NK militarly they aren't there. Britt answers back - just because we don't hear doesn't mean its not out there.
