Awww poor Little Petey Hoekstra, GW won't tell him anything that's going on! Can you blame him! It's like a sieve in Congress, might as well print it on the NYT.

I agree. I suspect the North Koreans obtained what knowledge they have about long range ballistic missiles from China, with the understanding that NK would be the envelope pusher while China tried to look respectable. The trouble is the head dog eater is also a crazy a$$ and actually believes he matters. It is way past the time that the Chinese can pull him in.

Kim is to China as, let's seeeee...

Jack Mutha is the the Dems.

Yeah, that's it.

Re: Katrina Van den Shovel says the WOT, not war, just needs policing??

Wasn't it John F'n Kerry, during the 2004 elections, that said that terrorism needs to go BACK to when it was just considered a "nuisance"??

IINM we're all talking about Wendy Sherman, not Wendy Anderson

Wendy Sherman  ... Ambassador Wendy R. Sherman is a Principal of The Albright Group, an international advisory firm. Prior to forming the group, from July 1997 through January 2001, she was the Counselor of the Department of State (DOS), with rank of Ambassador, appointed by President Clinton and confirmed by the United States Senate. Ambassador Sherman served then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as a special advisor and consultant on major issues of foreign policy, provided guidance to the DOS and undertook special assignments. At the same time, she was the Special Advisor to the President and Secretary of State, and the North Korea Policy Coordinator....

Rush was talking about how they were protecting the value of (maybe the continued existence of?) the consulting firm they founded together.  If their version of NK in the 90s doesn't prevail it will kinda devalue their firm, just a tad.

Goss Resigned on May 5th, This could have been the result of Pete meeting with Porter after he was axed or a letter confirming some face to face meetings that happened prior to May 5th. I would be interested if Pete had any meetings with the adminastration the week of May 1st.

"Excellent choices as usual!! Rush used to say, or still does say, that the Sunday Morning shows were show-prep for the EIB. Well, this thread is taking over that distinction."

Yes, I read this, just after watching what I can get here, and then feel prepared for listening to Beck, Rush, Hannity & Levine.......

According to Rush......Wendy Anderson and Madeline Albright are partners in a consulting business, using their expertise in dealing with NK as their calling card.

I cannot understand how anyone smart enough to have made enough money to afford "consultants" could be stupid enough to hire obvious failures. Miserable and dangerous failures.

OTOH who said the fools who would pay Wendy and Maddy MADE their money...

Boy does your conjecture sound totally feasible.

Now that you mention Negroponte...the thread about this yesterday DID mention his "involvement" in this, in that some tensions were/are present between he and Hoekstra.

According to how Fox News has been characterizing this...the letter was sent to Bush on the same day at the confirmation hearing for Hadley, Goss' replacement.

And, if Goss IS the whistleblower, like you theorize, it makes a LOT more sense.

Great post!

Goss was a political animal who could have been pushing the use of information to gain a political advantage (over Dems)at the expense of an intelligence advantage (over the terrorists).

#216, I am not surprised to hear this about Russert, he is a partisan hack disguised as a Newsman. The funniest thing I ever saw Russert do was moderate a Debate between Jeb Bush and McLawyer, and in doing a good job of moderating he allowed MClawyer to look really inept and Jeb to look really good. He must have wanted to jump off a bridge when he realized what he had unknowingly accomplished. The tide turned for Jeb after that and the rest is History. I had a slight hand in the Recount in my County that all those Newspapers asked for and got, and it was a pain in the butt, but really enlightening to see how many people mucked up their ballots. One voter even used a large jackknife to punch the ballot, simply unbelievable.

Biden and Sen. Reed were in Iraq, at least as of yesterday..

I saw footage of them walking around in Iraq...and I thought that Al-Maliki MAY decide to dissolve ties with America if we EVER let Biden back in his country!!

No doubt Biden puffed out his chest...and in trying to impress Al-Maliki said some things that we should be glad we don't know...(Biden is not the type to play close to the vest, he is a braggart)

I wouldn't even doubt that a few jabs at Bush weren't made during their talks.

There is a war going on between Hoekstra and Negroponte that is hurting this country. I hope someone, since May, has put these guys in a room( President Bush in the only one that could) and has stressed to them how important it is to have them on the same page.

The leaking of this letter indicates this has not happened yet.
