Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) trains had their downtown terminus in a sub level of the Trade Center. People died there. If they pulled this off they would have likely gotten some folks who made it out the first time in 93, then again in 01.
You are absolutely correct that people died in the PATH terminal during the 9/11 terrorist attack. The burning jet fuel poured down the elevator shafts and sent a vicious tongue of flame out through the bottom. An employee on my team was an eyewitness. She was on one of the last trains entering the station. She observed two men trying their best to help a third individual blackened with what were likely fatal burns. We must remain vigilant.
