Around FR it looks like Tom Tancredo, Newt Gingrich and George Allen are garnering some serious support. Tancredo is a solid Reagan conservative, who is serious about seeing HR4437 become law. Gingrich is the architect of the Contract With America and responsible for the GOP regaining control of Congress in 1994. For now, George Allen is a big question mark for me, but Allen has a conservative record on most issues. Pence has no national support and I don't think he has much regional support either.

George Allen is the ideal candidate for a White House campaign. Not because of his partisan credentials or his position on one issue or another, but because he comes across as so marginal and plain -- and has a nice, simple American-sounding name, too.

Silly as this may seem, this is exactly the kind of candidate who wins presidential elections.

Well that's we we have to CAREFULLY examine each's record, and determine the best nominee..but I do have to say that despite immigration, and even that isn't (100%) terrible Mike Pence has a pretty solid credentials in the HOR! I'll have to weigh each nominee as the election gets neerer, but as I see it Mike Pence and maybe 1 other are the only GOP national figures with solid Reagainite-Goldwater-1994 GOP Credentials..
