Then Rick should be in good shape because a lot of people around here aren't speaking well of him at all.

Two words for Mr. Warren: communist dictator.

Maybe that will help, and save him the jet lag.

Sounds incredibly naive. The stadium will probably be filled with North Korean soldiers and party stooges. The North Korean regime would never allow the average North Korean to hear a message that preaches there is a higher power than the midget Kim Jong Mentally Ill. In North Korea, he and his deranged father were and are God.

I'm not a Warren fan, living in the US we have a wealth of voices to choose from, and he's just one of many.

In North Korea there is only one voice allowed. Into this environment any voice from the West has got to be a breath of fresh air. I remember when Billy Graham first went into the Soviet Union years ago, he was criticized because he was fairly circumspect in his remarks, and he refused to criticize the regime. But it was a crack in the wall, and not many years later, thanks to God and Reagan, the walls came down.

Macabees had to slaughter a lot of apostate jews in his days too.

I don't agree with his doctrine, but Christianity is booming in communist China. Maybe he can kick it off in North Korea.

What's the harm? Anything is better than nothing. People hate Rick Warren for the same jealous reason they hate Walmart - he is very successful.

How is this possible? NK represses religion as there should be no "god" above their "dear leader."

It must be heady stuff to be in demand by the Council on Foreign Relations, to speak before the United Nations and before Bill Gates and Ted Turner.

Rick Warren has--GASP!--gone New World Order!!!!

Bill Moyers, who was also mentioned in the article, has gone NWO in a big way. All his recent PBS programs are shilling for Georg Soros, pure and simple!!!! He even had Soros (who is his major patron) as a "guest" on his program "NOW", which Moyers left about a year ago. Moyers was once merely a traditional liberal--now he's "Third Way"/NWO. I guess it pays better.

Now Moyers is doing a "Faith Versus Reason" program--more anti-Christian propaganda. What do you expect from someone who did those Serbophobic programs about "Bosnia" in the 1990s?

No, at this event you won't see chubby cheeked Korean peasant children and their happy parents. You can expect to see the communist party faithful selected to attend this massive propaganda event in promotion of the world's most brutal and oppressive regime.

I think Jesus would be saying "good, that's who needs to hear the Word of God the most." The people of NK are suffering and have no power to change anything, but those Ingrid speaks of do.

Who, pray tell, is Ingrid Schlueter? I've never heard of her. I know who Rick Warren is, and I know who Jesus Christ is, but I don't know who she is, besides the accuser of the brethren? It would do well to let God judge Christians. He's warned us time and again, NOT to Judge. Those who want to condemn Warren, would do well to pray for him instead, that they don't fall into Judgment themselves.

The last I heard of preachers in NK, they were tortured and their heads were run over with a steam roller while their parishioners were force to watch.

Maybe some changes going on now in NK.

Well .. if God told Rick Warren to do this .. then who are you to judge it's the wrong thing.

It might be the wrong thing for YOU to do - but maybe it's not the wrong thing for Rick.

More power to him. I will be praying for his safety.

I seem to recall that God called Paul to Rome, which was certainly not sympathetic to Christianity.

Maybe Mr. Warren's just a stooge. Then again, maybe God has something in mind.

The ridiculous whining tone of this article says a lot more about the biases of its author, than it does about Mr. Warren's trip.

To: The Lumster; All

I have come very late to this thread, but my two cents worth is: without regard to Mr Warren's own version of Christian theology, but understanding North Korea as well as I do and having followed Mr Warren's ministerial career, I see his trip as reflecting either supreme, naive ignorance, or supreme arrogance and sense of self-importance or all of the above.

His trip will be used as a propaganda tool by the dictator: "see, even these nice Christian preachers can talk to us bu that nasty Bush won't". In fact, there should be little doubt that the dictator approved the trip because he already knew how he would control it and insure it came across in his favor to his people.
