A friend of a friend died when two teens were street racing... they came over a hill, one tried to pass the other, and ran her and her dog over going over 100mph. She had a two year old son. I say through the book at street racers.
They are wonderful people (Tongans and Samoans) and you are right -- they are powerfully built and loyal to a fault. An ignorant, cocky ghetto fellow from LA insulted a Tongan's sister at a dance in a neighboring state some years ago and arrogantly agreed to "take it outside" with the Tongan -- it was his last insult. Because the low-keyed Tongans and Samoans are not loud-mouthed, cocky bullies does not mean they back down from a fight they'll most assuredly win.

On second reading of the thread, I can't see where the perp's heritage or race is mentioned at all until you brought it up.
It doesn't matter to me. I was more interested in her first name -- I didn't know girls were being named Edith anymore. Did a bit more research, and apparently they are.
But it mattered enough to you that you had to bring it up, so the focus on the thread, yet again, is the perp's heritage.
In the future, if you don't think it matters, please don't bring it up. The bigots will get to the issue soon enough if they show up. Hopefully they won't.

They could have been wearing seatbelts, it's a terrible secret that many brands of SUV's don't have roofs that are strong enough in a roll-over and they crush back in on the occupants. Phoenix news did an indepth report on this recently because of the number of deaths from crushed roofs, it's very technical, has to do with weight ratio's.
Just as profiling increases the odds, anti-profiling is strongly correlated with lower odds.
