Here in Ohio, motercyclists (with a loud lobbying group) aren't required to have helmets, but my six-year-old bike riding daughter is. What's up with that?

The argument goes that the motorcyclist is an adult and can make informed consent your six-year-old isn't and can't. I don't think it makes any sense either but that's were the logic is.

It isn't a matter of freedom or personal rights, it is a matter of life and death!
Sheesh!

but my six-year-old bike riding daughter is. WOW! I might be an Pri#k or something, but I always get this urge to push a kid off his bike when I see them riding with a helmet around the driveway.
Now I used to ride 3 to 4 hundred miles a week in my younger days so I understand there use.
But the driveway or Cul De Sac???
Tax me on my mileage and require your monitor on my car, and I will enter into open revolt. Go screw yourselves Gov't.

I think the issue with some motorcyclists is that the helmet can limit your hearing and your vision, thus making driving even more hazardous for them......that's what I've heard anyway...
