How's Dad doing?
It's been a pretty rough spring/summer. He loved doing outdoor work...but starts sweeping the patio and is physically worn out within 5 minutes which totally frustrates him. And his short term memory is really going AND last week his caregiver called in a panic because he wandered out the front yard which is a no no and a steep hill. He came back but there are all sorts of issues, him falling, the dogs getting lose (the back yard is fenced in and level and the only place he's ever used) BUT...he absolutely adores Rusty still. I would expect a move within the next 6 months. I would love to think that it goes as well as your MIL (although dad is WAY WAY beyond assisted living) Fortunately we have some wonderful places here. Am just not ready to deal with it. :o( But this is just another part of life right???? Thanks for asking.

I kept trying to tell myself that we are so very fortunate to have the resources to be able to have his mother in an excellent care facility and kept thinking how much more difficult it would be if we didn't have the resources. Of course, it made it much easier for us because JK's mom really didn't want to go back home again after her fall. It was her idea to move to Twin Oaks. That makes all the difference.
Sistah, I pray that God will guide you gently through the days ahead and the decisions that have to be made.
