No doubt we are acquiring data from their launches. It wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to goad us into intercepting one to see what our system does. Great way for China to gain intel on our missile defense.
To really screw with them, Bush should just mention in an off hand way that we have already shot down the first batch, and are ready for the second.
