Two trucks loaded with fuel missing
Two tanker trucks, carrying a combined 3,900 gallons of diesel fuel, disappeared Tuesday from a distribution business on Atlanta Industrial Parkway west of downtown, Atlanta police said.
The trucks, one containing 2,096 gallons of fuel and the other with 1,800 gallons, were noted as missing around noon. A security guard told police he saw the two tankers pulling away from the On-Site Fuel Center around 10:30 a.m. The driver of the first truck waved to the security guard as he drove past, according to a police report.
Because of the large amount of fuel involved, the FBI is working with the Atlanta Police Department in the investigation.
I don't think gas would work very well with fertilizer. They could make good molotov cocktails but gas evaporates too fast. The trucks themselves would make great bombs though.
Probably stole it because diesel fuel is valuable (expensive) now.
ANFO is only ~7% fuel oil -- and that is primarily to keep the ammonium nitrate from absorbing water. Those two trucks hold enough diesel to convert an entire shipload of ammonium nitrate to ANFO. And explosive-quality ammonium nitrate in those quantities is tightly controlled.
There may be some happy truckers somewhere, but I'm not concerned about that fuel being turned into ANFO...
It was diesel fuel..
Some of us are a little slow but eventually come around. Thanks for not solving the puzzle before the last commercial.
