I recalll years ago waatching a launch and the was only 2 lite and they aborted with like 1 second till srb ignition that was a close one

There was a Titan/Gemini launch during the NY World's Fair that aborted just at launch because a pipe seal had been left in one of the fuel or oxidizer lines. There was a burp of smoke and then nothing except a couple astronauts climbing gingerly down from the rocket.

That's happened a couple of times. Only two of the mains lit and the flight sequencer shut 'em down. That's GOT to make them tense in the crew cabin.

Gotta wake the little guy (three years old) up as soon as the 9 minute countdown resumes. He's been talking about this for the last couple of days.

We've had to build several iterations of the space shuttle out of legos. I'm not brave enough to fly in any of them.
