I loved the picture of Andrew Benecke with his parents and President Bush. I don't know if someone else posted but I did a google search and found out ....
Benecke has undergone 36 rounds of chemotherapy in a four-year battle against bone cancer and could not attend a White House ceremony Monday with other Presidential Scholars, so Bush presented the award to him personally.

Benecke has undergone 36 rounds of chemotherapy in a four-year battle against bone cancer.So tragic. Andrew seems like a wonderful young man. Sigh. With all the downright rotten people in this world, why do good ones like Andrew have to suffer so young with cancer.
