ELIAN Elian Gonzalez has never spoken before about the battle between the U.S. and Cuba that he was in the middle of five years ago when he was just 6. He does now in an interview with Bob Simon. Draggan Mihailovich is the producer.
AL QAEDAS TOWN When terrorist insurgents led by Al Qaeda took over the Iraqi town of Tal Afar, the U.S. military had to devise a way of retaking it. Their methods have become a blueprint for the war on terror. Lara Logan reports. Josh Yager is the producer.
FIRST MAN - Neil Armstrong talks to Ed Bradley in the first television profile he has ever agreed to do, revealing his personal feelings about landing on the moon, his family and the fame he shuns. Mitchell Weitzner is the producer.

I expect we will see his father portrayed as a simple hard working stiff, a waiter in a restaurant that caters to foreign tourists. Be aware that he is a member of the secret police with a super primo gig. I've eaten in restaurants in East Berlin ('79 to '86). We would leave tips that consisted of all our loose change and small bills because it was like play money and too much of a hassle to exchange back into real money. The tips were about what an average worker would make in one to two weeks. If they show his home, look around at the TV, stereo, boom box, etc. and ask yourself how a simple working stiff could accumulate all of this in a place like Cuba.

It cuts to the chase....

I think you're EXACTLY right...plus...if the kid's as cute as he was back then...you've got a new Spanish-speaking superstar...by the time he's 18, he'll be marketed all around the world!

CBS will probably show forged documents showing "conclusively" that Neil Armstrong never landed on the moon, and will ask him the location of the NASAbsoundstage where the "crime" occurred. Is Mapes producing this segment?

I think the reporters rose up and demanded that THEY not take all the heat for any problems....
Second of all...what would Neil say about this Mars shot?:

Rep Jackson-Lee, D-TX, should be a guest on 60 Minutes and ax Neil Armstrong if he planted that McDonald's sign on Mars in 1969.

Shameless. The kid is still underage. He's still in a totalitarian state. But 60 Minutes will be there to fawn over Castro and not ask the tough questions of Elian's keepers.

Correct, such as the claim by a Cuban doctor who escaped through Haiti that Elian suffered broken bones and severe bruising from the tender endearments of his so-called father.

Bob Simon is the only guy I watch on "60 Minutes." Bob Simon is the reporter the Iraqis captured as Gulf War I was starting. I'm not sure he buys the MSM's party line about the Middle East. On any other topic, he's roughly the same as the rest of the SeeBSers.

And so Al Gore lost the 2000 presidential election due to Florida's electoral vote going to Bush.

Be sure to look for pro-Democrat 60 Minutes shows to air constantly from August to November--without balance.
John McLame's legislation with his good buddy Russ Find-Gold made sure the LameStream Media will have free reign over political speech, while independent groups will have their political speech circumscribed just before an election.

Maybe that's why he got to do the story...they have something in common.
