Thanks I was not aware that they carried their weapons when not actually working. The concept of always being on duty yes I understand that as our police force would also adhere to this.

Normally though armed officers in the British police are either issued their weapons at work or if they take them home when not on a job that they require them for would be locked in a gun cupboard. I would be very surprised if they had them with them as a matter of course.

I don't know whether this is ture or not Snugs, but someone on a radio program last week, mentioned that in the UK, crimes committed with handguns are increasing.

If that's so, would you expect the authorities to change their procedures about when their police officers would be permitted to carry weapons?
