Thanks for that Priest link.
There was a caller from the UK throwing out the "McCarthyism" word, because of the criticism that the NYT has earned. I was hoping that Bennett would remind her, and the CSPAN audience, that Britain has an Official Secrets Act which is much more draconian than anything we have in America.
They do not have Freedom of the Press. Some people just love to feel superior, and. unfortunately, a lot of Brits are in that category.
1.If you are a member of the media, do not reveal state secrets that will get our troops killed. If you are so stupid you are not sure if your story will get troops killed, ask Tony Snow.
2.Don't go on a hunger strike, you probably will not convince the terrorists not to behead you anyway.
3. Do not offer to send the troops to Okinawa for some R& R, it's just not a good war strategy.
4. Do not constantly tell the American people about how you served in Viet Nam and then try and destroy other vets that really did fight a war in Nam.
5. Do not try and tell the American people that you support the troops but not the war. That too will do little to inspire the terrorists to put down their ied's or beheading swords.
6.Try not to stop a sitting President from intercepting intel from terrorists or those supporting the terrorists, it sort of sends the wrong message to to those who hate America even thought you may as well.
7.Try not to wear terrorists uniforms in Miami late at night and make plans to blow up buildings unless you really are qualified to do so. If you are qualified to do so, turn yourself in to the FBI immediately, it saves a lot of time.
8.Try not to voice opinions against securing your nation's border during a a time of war. The idea is to fight the terrorists on their own soil not ours.
Just a few hints for those who are not quite sure how to act when your country is at war. Those who have other ideas please join in, this is merely the tip of the iceberg which I now understand is rapidly melting and we may all flood away any minute.
Why America Hates the Press

Hillary met (then did her senior thesis on professional revolutionary Saul Alinsky) and went to work for him straight out of college.
It's hot and rainy down here, is it snowing yet in Denver?
Many good points, Rod. If only MSM would follow atleast part of that.
Thanks to you both- as always.
For anyone interested that's not seen what the NYT's did in their "travel" section on the weekend houses of Rummy and Cheney:

That would have been good too. I think Bennett figured he could make one point given the time. The one he made, of America's help and involvment around the world hit a good note to me. Too many people around the world forget that.

Gee, rodguy911, did you have to give them a game plan of truth and supporting our side? If they did that they would be thrown out of the Democrat party!!!
Thanks anita, if you have a few to add feel free.
Yes, from Fourth of July & Hugh Hewitt is playing big in this.
He is getting regular invites from CNN too, without the so-called fair & balanced dem.
----
Bennett has a contract with CNN. He IS the "balance" for CNN viewers. The rest of their lineup gives the "Colmes" view of current events.
Sorry to hear about your rain down there. Up here, the sun is out and it looks like it will be a pretty day. Not even a cloud in the sky at the moment. But, many July days have rain late in the afternoon, so we'll see what happens.
We won't have snow until September.....
I rarely watch H & C..but Bennett used to have a regular Tuesday night appearance there, so I did watch then. Interesting he chose to go with CNN...perhaps thinking he would get a wider audience that NEEDS to hear the other side?
All members of the New Media, interesting to see when the rat nets need the truth they come to the New Media, they are learning.
