I'd have said this is about the Korean missile but the Alaska ABM base isn't on the list.

I can't stop thinking the shuttle has an urgent delivery so it will launch tomorrow rain or shine. The alert is preparation for posd``````````````` (for real, that's what it looks like when you are typing and a scorpion runs up your leg.)

That's enough or me to end my post. (The scorpion met its end post haste.)

Could be just the "planned random" change in seurity. It complicates terrorist planning. They'd have to plan for everything because you'll never be sure what you'll face.

Or if they plan for the status quo, these random increases in security might detect a threat.

i remember after 1 1/2+ years of PML's from alpha to delta in panama, when the US finally invaded the country in dec. 89 a new one, echo, was designated, for 'active military operations in progress.' after a while (pre-invasion) if we weren't on charlie at minimum you just ignored it, i don't think they removed the PML from early 88. I do assume in c.s. they don't suffer from PML exhaustion at this point.

My guess is Israel bombing the PM's office in response to the 2nd kidnapping of an Israeli soldier.

The guano is going to hit the fan over there!

10/12/2000: USS Cole; 10/12/2002: Bali bombing. If one goes back, there are dates which seem to coincide (first WTC bombing, first Gulf War), 9/11/01 Attack on USA; 9/11/1948 Death of Muhammed Jinnah (Founder of Pakistan). There are important dates coming up: July 3, 1988 USS Vincennes accidently shoots down Iranian plane. July 4th; 7/7/2005 London bombings. There may be nothing to most of them, but it doesn't hurt to know what anniversaries are approaching.
