Incumbent Arnold Schwarzenegger is the top contender in California’s gubernatorial race, according to the latest poll by Zogby Interactive. 49 per cent of respondents in the Golden State would vote for Schwarzenegger, while 41 per cent would support Democrat Phil Angelides.

what state office did mcclintock win I didn't have to prove that he won, I only had to prove that it was POSSIBLE for a conservative to win. You stated:

To say that it is impossible for a conservative to win when one came that close only recently while being stiffed by his own party for support is now shown to be an empty assertion.
The real problem for California conservatives is the trading in false truisms by the likes of you.

No, actually he was 40 years ago... and 36... where the Governor's race was concerned (you seem not to have read what I wrote, which is always the problem with folks that ignore history).
But as for "getting with the program", my plans aren't joining the RINO liberals and drinking the kool-aid. Like I said, if you guys have a problem with Conservatives trying to win, you just need to either join the 'Rats so you can annoint your sainted liberals or get out of the way.

you all think McClintock would win if Arnold loses? That is the worst nightmare for the current CAGOP leadership. They'll do everything they can to assure that it won't happen. Indeed, Arnold has already reduced his support for McClintock because Tom out-polled Arnold in the primary.
Tom had best be planning to fund his own campaign out of direct contributions, no matter what happens. It's going to be a very interesting race.
