Incumbent Arnold Schwarzenegger is the top contender in Californias gubernatorial race, according to the latest poll by Zogby Interactive. 49 per cent of respondents in the Golden State would vote for Schwarzenegger, while 41 per cent would support Democrat Phil Angelides.

I'm no Davis fan. I strongly supported the recall. Unfortunately, I have viewed the record of the current administration closely and find very little improvement in most areas and lots of things that have been implemented that make us even worse off (Enviro regs, land grabs, borrowing, etc.)
You are the one that posted that we are so much better off. If you can't defend the fantasies, so be it.
It's really childish in a way... Like you so "eloquently" stated, it's a choice between Arnold and Angelides. End of story. They are just whining.
"Thanks, I was thinking the same thing."
Cool, Here's a toast to those of us that vote Republican.
I don't believe you, but you already know that, don't you.
While your skewed 'close viewing of the current administration' reflects many of our disappointments with it, your skewed 'close viewing' neglects to envision what your demoncrap team would have been doing.
Consider the ease that the fifth columnist has, joining here at FR and pretending to be 'the extreme right', with patriotic sounding monikers, with self-stated credentials to make the bravest keyboard warrior proud, with faux-outrage and innocence, consider these, and more, and perhaps you'll agree with me that we are seeing the most insidious of DU trolls. These are the leaders of the herd, however, and what disappoints me most it the good honest conservatives of the extreme right who get fooled by the fifth columnist drivel and the whole of the right which is tarred by their divisive efforts.
They are going to end us all up with NOTHING to be proud of, for decades!!! The debt service alone is going to suck very hard at extremely high rates, but by gum, they'll probably STILL be looking for something to swoon over Shifty Schwartzenegger about!!!
But they won't listen now... NO WAY!!!
Very well said!
Coming from someone who vocally denounces a good portion of the Republican platform, your position doesn't surprise me in the least.
The only demoncrap team I'm part of is the one that ARnold keeps bringing into the Republican party and appointing to state government positions. Susan Kennedy, Terry Tamminen, Bonnie Reiss, David Zingale, Patrick Henning.... etc. Oh, that's right, you think Reiss is just "a good woman". LOL.
Both candidates are not well liked by their respective political bases. The result will be a popularity contest with some limited influence of blind partisans within each respective camp.
The Democrat hasn't a chance. He's simply unlikable. Politics aside, his weasel like appearance and distinct lack of charisma doomed his candidacy before it was realized.
Those voting for either candidate will be holding their noses but the Austrian will win with ease in this beauty pageant whose target audience is the unwashed. The result will be a plurality governor, distinctly disliked by the majority of the electorate, with no mandate.
And what about when those same problematic policies are pushed under the Republican label?
Should Republicans remain silent and follow their "leaders" down this destructive path for the "good of the party"?
" ... Principles do matter ..."
Sure they do. And voting for Ross Perot brought us eight years of Clinton.
"He doesn't need Arnold."
How much you wanna bet that Arnold gets more votes?
"The election will not even be close. Neither will it represent the will of the majority

I think that is a pretty good description.
Couldn't agree with you more.
And voting for Schwarzy in November will get Californian's four more years of liberal social policy, sending the Golden State further into the political abyss. Btw, its conservative principles that count around FR. Voting for liberals like the Govinator only undermines conservatism.
And voting third party or for the Democrat candidate doesn't?
So, in other words, 41% of Californians want to be taxed more? Ugh! Only in California!
that would be L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaregossa (pronounced Vile and Gross)! former el presidente of the UCLA chapter of MecHA.
"I think Arnold's charisma and national celebrity and his personal can do attitude, reflects positively on the Republican party in California"
Yeah, It's just too bad he won't campaign for any of the Republican candidates for the Legislature unless they are in a safe seat.
