The strongest anti-Israeli responses have come from Sweden and Norway.

The U.S. always stops Israel from victory, and then wonders why victory is so hard to achieve in Iraq. Sad.

No harming Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas; A reasonable request.
no harming civilians
Not intentionally, anyway. Collateral damage happens.
and avoid damaging infrastructure.
Too late for that.

Abbas: perhaps; Chairman Abbas should be harmed if he's a party to the problem and if it will solve the problem.
civilians: yes. Agreed that true civilians should not be hurt.
infrastructure: probably....but it depends on the operational needs and lives at stake.

How do you tell a Arab civilian from an Arab terrorist? The Arabs in the West Bank openly support Hamas, call for the destruction of Israel, make no effort to return the kidnapped soldier, and after repeated warnings abduct and murder other Israeli citizens.
These Arabs need to feel pain. They deserve to have their houses destroyed the infrastructure obliterated, and to have enough of them killed that they decide human life is actually precious.
These people have proven what they are.
Israel should politely tell the rest of the world to either stop the Arabs themselves or get out of the way.

Well, since we seem to have insured their infrastructure. I would hope our State dept would ask them not to harm it.
As for not harming Abbas.. note we didn't say anything about not harming Hamas' PM ;)

There's a story on Haaretz tonight about the United States under an insurance policy paying to fix the power plant the Israelis took out the other day.
Our tax dollars to fix their power plant, imagine that.

The Palestinian terrorists are expecting Israel to cave in to public opinion and media pressure like the the EU nations often do. However the Israelis are very serious about hunting down and wiping the terrorists responsible as well as the government officials who aided and abetted this kidnapping. The Israelis are not to be provoked.

"No harming Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas..."
But Israel has not shown any desire to harm that smooth talking terrorist and member of Fatah. Isn't that statement something like telling us (the USA) not to harm the children in Iraq--a veiled assumption of sorts?

Dear Israel,
It is a well known fact of history that when you have the
enemy in retreat it is the time to decimate him. One does not back off out of "humanitarian concerns", the enemy can
only be defeated decisively, or the war continues.
They have said they will throw you into the sea as you try
to negociate with them for these many long years.
Now they have a duly elected government that has kidnapped
and attacked your sovereign nation, it's time to assume the
aspect of a lion and defend yourself.
From this American I can only say....."Let's Roll!".

Who the hell are we to tell the Israelis what to do. They know how to fight their enemy very well. It's not our place to put demands on them.

What the hell is the matter with the leaders of this country! Until terrorists pay very dearly for their actions...i.e. kill every one of the rag head M.F.s in Gaza, they will continue the terrorisim...because there is no consequence...no penalty. We have got to stop holding back Israel from doing what they should have done years ago...either destroy or displace the muslims that are living in the land that belongs to Israel.

From the article:
Israel's "public diplomacy" efforts, aimed at getting the Western media to support the IDF operations have also borne fruit.
The American newspapers The New York Times and The Washington Post have published editorials that placed responsibility for the crisis on Hamas.
The outgoing Austrian term presidency of the European Union published an announcement Friday on the situation in the Middle East calling for Shalit's immediate and unconditional release.
The strongest anti-Israeli responses have come from Sweden and Norway.
