"Attention Mr. Nasrallah: at the sound of the bombs, the time will be 21:00"
IAF resumes strikes on Beirut after nightfall:

Two heavy explosions shook Beirut after nightfall Thursday, apparently from a new Israeli strike on the capital's southern neighborhood, a Hizbullah stronghold.
The blast went off around 9 p.m., a time Israel has hit south Beirut like clockwork the past three nights.

Meanwhile, in New York, Kofi Annan chokes on the 'T' word.

And the 'S' word.

And the 'I' word.

Gillerman: The word 'terror' not mentioned once in UN Annan's speech:

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Gillerman told the UN Security Council that UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan did not mention the word 'terror' once during the speech.
He added that whoever wants violence to stop should turn to Iran and Syria, who he added were also absent from Annan's speech.

Major General Gantz: Attacks causing major damage to Hizbullah:

IDF Land Forces Commander Major General Gantz said this evening during a briefing that up to today 3,000 attacks, out of those 150 being carried out today, have taken place since the start of fighting.
The attacks caused "a very [large] number of killed and injured Hizbullah members, many strikes on infrastructures, targets, arms, and launchers," according to Gantz.

He added that this "effort will go on for a period of time which we are prepared for and in total the accomplishments, with all of the difficulties, are building up."

Catch and release, Hizballah style...

Hizbullah kidnaps two foreign journalists in Beirut:

According to local police in Beirut, Hizbullah operatives kidnapped two foreign journalists in the center of the city Thursday.
Two journalists kidnapped by Hizbullah release:

Two British journalists earlier kidnapped by Hizbullah in Beirut have been released by Lebanese police, a local police officer said.

You see, this is the kind of thing that makes John Bolton angry...
...and makes the rest of us think that the UN is a waste of prime Manhattan real estate.

Hizballah deliberately targets civilians and deliberately puts civilians at risk by waging war from the midst of civilian populations, and according to the United Nations, it's Israel that is guilty of "war crimes."

UN warns of war crimes in Lebanon:

Killing of civilians in Lebanon is likely to subject Israeli soldiers to war crime trials in international courts, UN human rights high commissioner says.

He who fights with Hizballah dies with Hizballah

Hizbullah rejects German ceasefire deal
JPost.com:

Germany has approached Israel and Hizbullah with a ceasefire deal, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Rai Al-Aam reported.
Under the terms of the proposal, Hizbullah and Hamas would release the three captured IDF soldiers, and Israel would stop bombing Lebanon, withdraw from the Gaza Strip, and release the Hamas ministers arrested after Cpl. Gilad Shalit was kidnapped in June.

Really?
Lebanese PM Saniora: Hizbullah must be disarmed:

Hizbullah has created a "state within a state" in Lebanon and must be disarmed, Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora said in an interview published Thursday in an Italian daily.
Saniora told Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera that the Shi'ite group has been doing the bidding of Syria and Iran, and that it can only be disarmed with the help of the international community and once a cease-fire has been achieved in the current Middle East fighting.

"It's not a mystery that Hizbullah answers to the political agendas of Teheran and Damascus," Saniora was quoted as saying by Corriere. "The entire world must help us disarm Hizbullah. But first we need to reach a cease-fire."

Saniora has subsequently disavowed the comments above.
