Sheehan sues over Bush ranch parking bans

WACO, Texas - Cindy Sheehan and four other war protesters filed a lawsuit Friday challenging roadside camping and parking bans near President Bush's Crawford ranch.

Sheehan, who lives in Berkeley, Calif., was in Waco to file the case, which asks that the ordinances not be enforced during protests in August and ultimately be declared void.

The suit, filed in state district court, was filed against McLennan County, the sheriff and county commissioners.

Sheehan, whose oldest son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004, reinvigorated the anti-war movement last summer with her peace vigil — dubbed "Camp Casey" — that started in ditches off the road to Bush's ranch.

As it grew, the group also set up "Camp Casey II" on a private, one-acre lot closer to the ranch.

Neighbors complained of traffic congestion from the August rally and commissioners enacted the parking ban on parts of 14 roads near the ranch and prohibited camping in any county ditch.

Who is paying for the lawyer?

I read that she went to Europe, when President Bush was there and joined the protesters.

Given what she must have started with . . . not much;

Given the rate of chronic leakage . . .

What on earth is driving this woman's body around at this stage?

Didn't all her brains leak out a long time ago?

Cindy Sheehan to provoke the Second American Revolution July 4th, 2006-Hunger Strike at White House!

http://www.uruknet.info/?p=m24310&l=i&size=1&hd=0

Gold Star Families for Peace will announce a historic hunger strike against the war in Iraq. At 5pm, they will sit down in front of the White House to eat their last meal and hold a press conference before beginning the fast at the same location in the morning of July 4 at 10am.

If you cannot join Cindy in DC, please do something to provoke the revolution in your hometownAs the July 4th weekend approaches, we want to encourage your group to think about planning antiwar actions during the holiday weekend. July 4th celebrations take place in cities and towns, communities small and large, urban centers and rural locations.

===

I bet their "hunger strike" will last as long as Saddam's, who missed ONE meal, then ate again.

I think these "hunger strikes" are a sham.

I remember reading about the Gitmo terrorists "hunger strikes" -- if they miss one meal, it's counted as a hunger strike, all the while they drink all the milkshakes they want and so on. I also read that they "rotate" -- each only fasts for a day, then it's the next guy's turn to fast for a day, etc. Of course the MSM doesn't report the details. That one article must have just slipped by an editor.

Nobody could survive 3 entire months with no food or water and their intent to go on a "hunger strike" until September, clearly shows it's not a real one.

I know this may not be a popular position to take around here, but with this story I've gone from pitying her to hating her to pitying her again.

She doesn't seem to grasp that the leftist media has no more use for her. As they usually do with women they call victims for their political goals, the MSM put Sheehan in the public's view in order to make Bush look bad. As would happen to many of us, Sheehan became overwhelmed with this new power, and her opinion carrying weight.

But Sheehan's usefulness is at an end now that she still craves that attention but is unaware of what a caricature it's made of her. She will do anything to get attention, but she's just a cheap sideshow now, as the media are looking for the next thing with which to bash the President, since her antics have made the rest of the country see her as a kook, one to be pitied for her loss but not to be taken seriously.

In all actuality, cindy will only miss her mid morning snack! She'll cry that she was misquoted.

I agree, about them being a sham. It's just another media ploy. Get the initial headline and then drop it.

I suppose some may find it pretty callous that this bereaved mother has found such a lucrative job with so many perks by stepping over her dead son's body, but who's to say?

hehehe...oh yes, now I remember. Looks like the good reverend was certainly enjoying the attention.

What a pathetic bunch they are. Would be funny if they weren't such abettors of ruthless killers who want to see our nation and all it stands for destroyed.

Thank God for young men like her son who saw his duty clearly and gave his life in pursuit of it for all Americans, including his own anti-American mother and the reverend and all of their ilk as well.

Who is paying her way as she gallivants around the globe on her anti-American high horse?

You are. Assuming she was the beneficiary since her son was not married, she received a $100,000 death benefit and a $400,000 VGLI payment for a total of a half-million dollars from the taxpayers after her son was killed in Iraq.
